Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Have you ever seen a nuclear powerplant? They aren't that big and they don't exactly build them on main roads where any idiot can get close to them.
But hell yeh, so very off-topic :)Last edited by Gygaxphobia; 2008-04-13 at 06:55 AM.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Well, back to the topic at hand... Aldran definately got "berserk button"-award this time... I didn't think he even COULD go to such legths of emotion. And now they seem to finally start using some serious spells. It is going to be interesting to see how that fight turns out...
And I would be greatly interested of methods you make this comic, Zarah, as I will be trying to start my own webcomic soon... expecially valued would be tips of making grid for the comic, as it is pure pain trying to make that up in inkscape... any tips would be greatly valued

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
dispite several misconseptions here, this is like a spin-off of Godwin's law, except Hitler didn't use nuclear power plants...

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Honestly, one accident and the world starts hating it. It's only been a couple decades, and the wildlife is fine and in theory you could live there quite happily, were it not for the no-go zone that surrounds it.
The Red Forest is actually quite pretty.
@V Actually it's a forest of dead pine trees.Last edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2008-04-13 at 11:09 AM.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Yeah... It is still dangerous to go out of the road, Pripyať is still ghost town with high radiation spots... And Red forest... Well, it's not Red because some communist cementary was there. It was so radioactive that it shine red. They cut it down, burried under the ground and I don't think something normal gows there...

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I would note that there have been been several nuclear meltdowns in recent decades; Chernobyl only stands as the single worst disaster. And even though there is a concern about killing wildlife, the benefits of wind power far outweigh it; the problem with wind energy is that it just isn't very reliable.
But anyways, this is very off-topic, and if we want to have a discussion about alternative energy sources and nuclear power, I suggest we make a thread elsewhere.
Very nice! He looks very ominous!

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I love the way that everyone puts their oar in and then says it's off-topic as though no one else will respond!
Kind of appropriate for a comic about Villains (I've not seen any sign of them becoming Anti-Heroes yet, only protagonists).
But seriously these aren't misconceptions, there's some fragrant falsification in here and not a single fact yet ;)---------------------------------------------------

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I'd have nothing against nuclear if not for the waste (and the possible risks involved with keeping them too close to a city, but that's easy to solve: don't put them too close to a city). They're fantastic sources of energy*, there's a great many safety measures to prevent meltdowns, there's no air pollution... but until we find and implement a failsafe method of disposing with radioactive waste, don't let me catch a nuclear power plant in my country.
*I understand you could run my entire country off one.
(...I actually think wind turbines look cool...)

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
Personally, I would opt for a massive satellite in orbit of the planet, stationary in relation to Earth and the Sun, coated with solar panels, which beamed the energy to the surface with a laser producing heat to boil water, produce steam, and power a turbine, thus providing energy. Barring a total energy-based laser method, that would seem to be best.

OFF-TOPIC!
See, Zarah? This is what happens when we wait too long for a new strip. Seriously, I'm in danger of going into withdrawal over here!

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I wonder if Zarah even cares that we're wasting thread space talking about nothing... Post in the Silly message boards as 'Anti-Heroes based talk of randomness', and go there. Then we can spam it with Rays and people won't complain.

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
you know this wouldn't have happened if I hadn't said I went through a lot of paper and then Nameless said tree killer and then through a long line of events to elebrate to go into right now we got off topic. IF ONLY ZARAH WOULD UPDATE THE STRIPS ON THE DAYS HE SAID HE WOULD! THEN WE'D HAVE SUMTHING TO TALK ABOUT OTHER THAN ECONOMICS!

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
First things first... *slams on the thread breaks*
People need to read my posts. As I already said, my bandwidth was close to maxing out on Friday, and Saturday afternoon, it did indeed cap, and I was disconnected until late that night. I couldn't have updated even if I wanted to. But that changes today, since I've got both yesterday's and today's comic for you. Enjoy!

Re: Anti-Heroes: Vol. II
I updated (and rearranged) the fan art section a little bit in the main thread. I added everything that I saw, but if I did overlook someone's work, just yell at me, and I'll throw it in there along with the rest.
