They can avoid points, but I doubt they can avoid being assassinated.

Also, under absolutely no condition will I miss that game. It's just too amusing to not be a part of.

LLAMA LLAMA DUCK DEUX– The Insanity Continues….

Last time, we decided to give everyone a role. It worked to some degree, only to be more perfected with Super Smash Brothers.

This time around, we decided for everyone to pick their role.

That’s right. If you want to be a seer, you can choose to be a seer.

However, in order to make this work right, we have made specifications on the roles.

After everyone has picked the role, the teams will be decided at random.

So read through the list, and choose, but choose carefully!

    ROLES
    Spoiler
    Show

Careless Baner – This role can only bane other people. They can’t bane themselves!
Seer/Fool – This role can discover someone’s role by sending in a PM at night. Are they truly the seer, or are they just fooling themselves. Scry interference is in effect.
Voider – This role can cause someone’s power to not work until the next night phase by selecting them during the current night phase.
Disguiser – This role can cause themmself or another to look like a different role/team at night.
Mayor – This role’s point during the day counts as 3.
Howard, the ? – Of course the zany antics of this space duck would come back, but this time it might be for any team. This role can cause someone to not be lynched by pointing at them during the day phase.
Assassin – This role can kill someone the next night by hiding that person’s name (in white text) during their day post.
Vortex – This role can cause all points at one player to be deflected another player. The players are individually told if points for them are on being “vortexed”, but not if they are on the sending or receiving end.

    TEAMS
Llama’s – The triumphant hero’s of LLD1 return. Once again this team must try to eliminate all the ducks. Llama’s will make up 70% of the players.
Duck’s – The victim’s of game 1, they are back with a vengeance. Duck’s will make up 15% of the players. At the start of the game, each duck will know 1 other duck (teams of 2). At night, the duck’s will send in votes to choose a player to eliminate. The player with the most votes dies.
Bunny’s with a Pancake – The carefree animal of the internet has joined into the game. Why? Well it just doesn’t make any sense. All they care about is surviving until the end of the game.

    Rules of note:
Scry interference will result in a failed attempt.
Voided scries will result in a failed attempt.
There is no voider interference, but voiding may be daisy chained.
Voider will not be told the results of their void.

    So thoughts?
    Sounds insane goody.
    So in!

    Also, I can has pancakes?

You should totally make a role involving stealing the pancakes.
And the goal for the bunnies is to survive and keep the pancakes!

    Uh.....

I don't think that will work very well... let's investigate.

There are 8 roles. Let's assume at least 40 players. That's on average 5 of the same role in the game. This will cause problems.

First of all, I don't see why when Howard nearly broke the game last time, why you not only bring him back, but make MORE of him. With 40 players, you'll have 6 ducks, which gives a *does math* 55% chance that at least one Howard will be on the Ducks. Okay, but now let's say the players find a Howard. Now you don't know if he's evil or not! Plus, any other Howards will be forced to stay off wagon, as preventing a lynch only HELPS the ducks, as it takes away the main weapon the Llamas have.

Secondly, the assassin won't work well. White text isn't that hard to find. Then you waste baner protections preventing the called kill.

Thirdly, this is assuming that all roles get picked equally. This is NOT going to happen. You are going to have a GLUT of seers and baners. Trust me. Everyone likes having a power role, and these are the most popular. Even when making half the seer/fool roles fools will leave a lot of seers I would wager. Though the confusion will get sorted out as soon as one finds another. The baners will make it even more likely a kill will be blocked. And having a lot of these roles will make the ducks' job near impossible!

Multiples of the other roles could break things too. I'll have to think of this. Shoot, multiple of ANY role could be problems, especially roles this powerful.

Honestly, what I liked about LLD is that everyone's role is UNIQUE. Or at least different. Everyone has something unique to contribute. By having 5 seers in this game, each seer feels less valuable. And while a lot of the roles were weak (out of necessity) they all had potential to be useful in certain situations. And each role becomes more powerful when used in conjunction with other roles.

But when you let MULTIPLE identical power roles work together, you're just going to get a mess. Trust me.

Thumbs down, I have a VERY bad feeling about this idea. Please still with the original LLD concept. I can help design it if you like.

A option would just be to skip the white vote and instead just kill the player they voted for during the day.

The difference being, no one knew there was anything to look for in Pirates (well done, by the way).

To easily track-able, if there wasn´t a kill during the day, they can easily track down those who didn´t vote and so on, thus easily finding it out. Also if you do kill, it would be pretty easy to trace unless you join a big bandwagon which already has potential to lynch a person and thus waste your kill.....
    So a no-go I think.

Hmm, maybe it would be better if it was done in either normal black text or white text and the target also PM´d to the narrators.

This role could be good for some RP´ers, or tacticians.

We'd require a PM from every assassin to clarify and make sure.

PhantomFox - You run a game with individual roles for everyone, so having another is kinda redudant IMO. As for the other stuff...

Sure, multiple seers. With scry interference in effect and voiders out there, plus fools - that role is no where near as powerful as in other games.

Baner - CARELESS baners. They can't protect themselves, they can only protect others. If two baners happen to find each other, well that's two that can protect each other at night. Plus baners on the duck side? More of a help then hinderance to them, but not a game breaking thing.

Assassins - powerful role, limited by the fact that it must point at a person in white text. A known hinderance to the role. Followed up with the fact they have to leave the post there (good thought though Shadow!) until the narrators can confirm it against the PM they sent in order for the kill to happen, makes them easily voidable or the target bane-able. Only the cleverest of the clever will be able to sneak this one in.

And the roles are decided before the teams. So it's not like the ducks will know to pick the roles of Howard the ? before the game starts. Plus Howard biggest asset is his weakness - he has to literally point in red at someone for that person to be saved. With the chance of multiple howard being out there = only more confusion to tracking them or for them to hide properly. Plus, VOIDERS and VORTEXERS will completely screw with Howards abilities.

Sure, it could possibly happen that everyone, everyone, picks assassin and on day 1 manage to point at someone who in turn is pointing at someone else, meaning game over night 1.

Honestly, I think Voider might be the most powerful role in the game, but if you have voiders attacking voiders...well they aren't a game breaking role either.

I've also been thinking that I may create some roles that are combo-roles before game start, just to add more confusion.

Like a Voider-Baner - can either void or bane once per night, but not both.

Just layers upon layers of confusion, which is where Llama and I want it to be.
I'm usually late to the party, but it's a great time when I get there....

And what's wrong with having multiple massive role games? I don't know if another Smash will be running by April anyhow. I based Smash of of YOUR game, you have the RIGHT to make another one! Shoot, I'll HELP. I was kind of hoping you were taking notes from Smash so as to make yours better. It don't think it'd be redundant, I was hoping that it'd be a pioneer of a sub-genre, like paranoia with neigh no-info, or multiple wolf team games.

Please don't let the fact that I do Smash keep you from doing your own thing. I'd feel bad to kick you out of the sub-genre YOU created.

As for the current idea, I just get the feeling that there is way too much potential for game breaking team ups. I know that you're aiming for mass confusion, but this seems too much. It seems that there is no info that anyone could trust, or infer anything out of. It's like... being in a maze versus being in a maze blindfolded and being teleported every 2 minutes.

I dunno... I just have a bad gut feeling about this.

I, for one, will be posting names in white all game long.

Perhaps names of other players not playing LLD2 to see if they die in other games.

Even if I'm not an assassin.

All I have to do is put one of three or four names down each night to make someone believe that I am one, and then I'm creating teh chaos that the Goof and Llama want. And that'd really be what I wanted for this.

Also, I'm starting to think that LLD was my first WW game...
