And in other news, upon re-watching [S]: Enter, I realized why i feel like the story i started reading and the story I’m reading now are two separate things.

Back then, in the days of [S] WV Acend and [S] Enter, Things were about the game.

No trolls, no felt, no universes dieing, no lord english, no scratching, no alternate timelines, no ancestors, just four kids, and the game.

I miss when Homestuck was about the game.

I count the Exiles as being part of the game.

Theory: SBURB isn't a game, nor is it modelled after games. Games were invented as an imitation of SBURB to ensure that children are properly trained for when the time comes. It's basically the same reason young trolls build their own hives.

Really? That's when I really started to get into it. The light-heartedness of the earlier acts was nice, but I prefer that it's not just a game any more. I don't know who said it, though it isn't always true: "When everything is at stake, nothing is at stake." I've always felt like Homestuck was the sole exception.

So, the entry artefact was a bust? I think Jane was about to be hit by the meteor, then the Battleship Condescension popped up and teleported her... somewhere?

Jake was in the frog temple, and the next we see of that place it's underwater and surrounded by Crockercorp stuff.

Dirk was ascending, and came outside to a world where his building is on supports above the water? Was it always like that?

And Roxy came out from what was the Skaianet lab to a chessboard looking arrangement of houses? Again, was it like that before?

Also GCat stopped us from having JohnPoppopsprite.

In short, I suddenly understand nothing.

ok i THINK i get what is happening after watching it twice.

Jane's sprite didn't get prototyped before time was up, so her alchemy dealie couldn't activate, because you need a sprite to play the game. Meteor hit, she and her house died. Then... idk it shows us a flash forward of the neighbourhood in several years.

Jake i'm not too sure what’s going on with him

BUT! with Roxy and Dirk, first we are shown what we THOUGHT existed (Dave's city, Rose's woodland home), then we are shown what REALLY exists, flooded and/or developed land that has been that way for several years now. and we see imperial drones flying in, likely to wipe out humanity as we know it, possible sparing some of us for slavery.

it is likely the condesince was using humanity to build up infrastructure and some remnant of troll society so she could pick up where she left off.

As for Jane's little dealie there, i'm not sure about that. it looks like the ship was coming in directly after the meteor (which now that i think about it may have been a weapon blast) and the ship's arrival signalled the end of humanity and the rebirth of troll scociety.

i'm guessing Dirk and Roxy's area's aren't "years in the future" dealies as Jane's likely is, as we can see them there with their homes fighting off drones. that wouldn't happen unless they were stranded on earth for several years after everything we just saw, which i find unlikely.

It explains what all the "Jane does not believe Roxy" stuff is all about and also why Dave wasn't freaked out by the information that "drones are coming for him".

I think I sorta get it. The ads and crap were maybe affecting the people's heads? And it looks like most of the earth has been remade to be the spawning ground of new sea dwellers. Or something.

It would make sense that Roxy and Dirk are in a different time than Jane and Jake considering the age difference between them pre-scratch.

If Dirk and Roxy are in the future, what about the assassination attempts? They all seem to happen at the same time, so is it shown from the future? Spades talks to Diamonds Droog after the [S] Prince: Rise Up flash, so they are in the same time line.


If it's in the future, then Jane is alive three years after she enters the game and hasn't gone god tier, a long time. If it's in the past, then Dirk has been awake with his Dream Self for three years, which is a loooong time.

I say three years only because Jade said that it would take three years to get to the other side and that seems to be easier to do then having Jade and John at Roxy's house (Which I assume is where they are going to come out. Windows and ****.) If it's less, then okay. If it's more then three years then John and Jade will be there to help Roxy wouldn't they?
