Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
I have had Déjà vu increasingly, but to no great effect. I never remember the déjà vu until after the thing I had déjà vu about has happened, and even then it’s nothing too important, only like eating the same bit of mince, or holding my partner just so..?
If anyone is insane its Rich for making such a wonderful place (the Playground, for those of you wondering), it’s like a magnet in a cows stomach, drawing all the bits into one place of wonder.
*Looks at above paragraph*
Ok, I must admit, I am losing it slightly? A COWS stomach?! I should be able to find a better metaphor than that!Failed at RAF hosting.

Well, we're travelling faster than LS, right? Consequently, you're catching up with things you're about to do before you've actually done them.
It's Red Dwarf. I did mention that I communicate entirely through references, word asociation, quotes and connotations, didn't I?Last edited by Player_Zero; 2008-06-19 at 05:24 PM.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
I once had a flashback to when I was like five. When I was five, I thought the NES game Marble Madness was really creepy, so when I loaded the cart into my NES just this year I flashed back to hanging out with my older brother and his friend while he played and I thought about how creepy that game was.
In other news, I'm listening to some music I bought with my birthday money, and I have got to say my taste in music is very good.My excellent avatar courtesy of NEO|Phyte.

You mentioning the NES made me remember Dr. Mario...
And Zelda 2...
And Snake Rattle and Roll... Heh... I remember playing that with my brother. That game was hard...
And all the other NES games I played...

I think I have DR.Mario, and I know I have Zelda 2 although I've never played due to not having beaten Zelda 1. My brother knocked the NES off of the TV while Zelda 1 was in it and somehow managed to erase my saved game ( I was nearly to the end to).

I've always wanted to be able to punch people faster than the speed of light. It would be like: "Ow! What was tha- huh? Who just punched me?"
Then the universe would spilt into the square root of negative two pieces. Thank you, physics, for being so restrictive.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
You had to lick the last boss foot for about half an hour non-stop to kill it... Seriously.
Also, for those who didn't know, the bosses of each level were feet. You had to lick them with your snake-tongue multiple times in order to destroy it.
The water always scared me, though... Because of the shark-things.

We never did make it to the final boss, but yeah, I've heard stories that it literally could take over an hour to beat.
Playing chicken with the sharks was one of the best parts of the game.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
My first Zelda game was Ocarina of Time.
At the time I was too young to really grasp it, so my dad played through it for me.
It became a family effort, all of us contributing ideas and tips, doing different minigames or bits of dungeons.
New Year's Eve... 1998 or whenever it came, was spent with the family going through Jabu Jabu's Belly.
That's about the only memory I have of me and my dad getting along.
These days, whenever my sister comes home from Uni for a bit, I usually load up the Master Quest edition on the Gamecube and we play through that.

Mine was OoT as well. Loved that game.
It was a joint effort with a freind - i wasnt very good with the controls sometimes, but i had a natural knack for puzzles and bosses, so we'd switch between playing at various times.Everything I say is 100% TRUTH*

My first LoZ game was Twilight Princess. It's been ages since I've been on it (I got distracted by Umbrella Chronicles, Lylat Wars and House of the Dead 2 and 3 Return).

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
Omg omg omg! I just had a revelation that's probably flagrantly obvious to everyone else! The movie The Flight of Dragons is based on The Dragon and the George, not The Flight of Dragons, a scientific examination of whether dragons could actually have existed! AND! The Dragon and the George is just the first in a series! =O Must watch, must read again, must read others... To the library catalogue, Bookman!
edit: Except... I don't remember the bad guys at the end of the book being beaten by Science?
Why does this keep happening? People keep telling me about, or I see of my own accord, some movie, and it turns out I've already read the book. For example, my friend was describing the movie Stardust to me, and I was all, "Hm... That sounds... I've heard that before... That's really familiar... That's... I've read that book! Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
@/\ It was VERY loosely based on that book, yeah... Wikipedia knows all and sees all.
We still don't get Brawl for a week... I preordered it the middle of last year, though. So I reckon I'll be able to get it on release.
Warning: Maths
SpoilerLet f(x) = xn + a1xn-1 + ... + an
Where a1, a2,..., an are given numbers.
It is given that f(x) can be written in the form
f(x) = (x+k1)(x+k2)...(x+kn)
Then by considering f(0) or otherwise show that k1k2...kn = an
Show also that:
(1+k1)(1+k2)...(1+kn) = 1 + a1 + a2 + ... + an
and give a corresponding result for (-1+k1)(-1+k2)...(-1+kn)
Find the roots of the equation
x4 + 22x3 + 172x2 +552x +576 = 0
Given that they are all integers.
Spoilerf(0) = 0n + a10n-1 + ... + an
= (0 +k1)(0 +k2)...(0 +kn)
= k1k2...kn
=> k1k2...kn = an
Similarly f(1) shows (1 +k1)(1 +k2)...(1 +kn) = 1 + a1 + a2 + ... + an
And f(-1) shows (-1 +k1)(-1 +k2)...(-1 +kn) = +-(1 - a1 + a2 - ... +- an)
Where the sign of equation depends on whether n is even or odd.
Using this in the equation
x4 + 22x3 + 172x2 +552x +576 = 0
We see that all three roots multiplied together total 576, which is equal to 26 * 32, the total of each root minus one is 1-22+172-552+576 = 175 = 52 * 7 and that the total of the roots add one is 1+22+172+552+576=1323=33 * 72
Since we know that there are four factors in total and we only obtained three from the prime factors of the total of the roots minus one we can deduce that one of the roots minus one must be one, and therefore a root must be two and that the other three roots minus one must be the three prime factors obtained. Therefore the roots of the equation are the 2, 6, 6 and 8.
=> x4 + 22x3 + 172x2 +552x +576 = 0
= (x+2)(x+6)2(x+8)Last edited by Player_Zero; 2008-06-20 at 08:00 AM.

Re: Raiser's Rambunctiously Rambling Random Banter #98
Didn't you know that?
And I love that film. Now all I have to do is find it again. Curse our mammoth collection of videos, tapes, DVDs, CDs and Other spread throughout all bar two rooms in our house.
And I've further emphasised my geekery by alphabetically arranging all my files and folders on any computer I use and categorising the stuff under YouTube (basically anything I watch) into: Music; Seen and Not Seen. I have about twenty to thrity series (lots of anime) under Not Seen.
And my books are naturally divided into genre/subject, then by author, then by title.
Not wierd whatsoever.
