    Yeah.

Now I have to go see my professor about it . . . in like half an hour. I *hate* going to see professors. I always feel like I'm imposing (by this I mean "taking up too much of his time", not "intimidating") or something.

Try having a weekly hour long tutorial with someone who is a certified expert in their field, and you're talking about essays which you wrote. On topics he/she holds dear to his/her heart.

    Actually, I would love that. Even if I'm not particularly good at the subject, I would be interested to hear what a certified and deeply interested professor has to say on whatever I happen to be studying. Far more interesting than the dispassionate and unmotivated kind. <.<;

Yeah. He ended up thinking I was more interested in the Edward I aspect, and gave me a bunch of sources. I'm going to end up with a lot of political and military history in it, probably, which isn't necessarily what I was going for but he gave me a couple books to try and a website to look up journal articles, which is what counts.

Now allow me to collapse with exhaustion at the thought of the effort this is all going to take. I have to find primary sources that have been translated (most of what there is is still in French or Latin, which obviously I don't read). Still, my thesis is unformed and I can go where I want with it . . . plus my mum has this tome by J. Beverly Smith, this fusty old guy who's devoted his life to research on medieval Wales . . . so my chances may be pretty good.

Even though this is my favorite professor, I just always come out of my teachers' offices feeling like an idiot. Now I'll go drown my sorrows in St Augustine's confessions, thank you very much.

Mainstream is only an insult when it's something that is both very popular and very bad.

I was more insulted by the implication that I don't listen to more underground metal, which is pretty much what I mostly listen to. I do however, enjoy some mainstream bands. Iron Maiden, who you named, is my favorite band ever.

    *sigh*

Look, given how frequently people make inaccurate statements about me and the music I love, I get annoyed when someone says something incorrect about my musical tastes. It has nothing to do with "cred." It has everything to do with it being a simple pet peeve. Now stop being condescending.

So, G&S rehearsal was a bit weird, as there were only two of us there plus the director and pianist.
Intentional, as it was a principal rehearsal only working on Josephine's solos, the Josephine/Ralph duet and accompanying dialogue, but still. Bit weird.

Apologies all round. What fun and japes we had.

Since when do metalheads get dissed or whatever? They are normally huge here, or tiny and made of spikes and drugs of some kind. Not normally the kind of people you readily insult. I mean I do it, but that because most of my friends like metal and their annoyance amuses me (admittedly, mocking music is not limited to a single genre), but other than that seems silly.

I have just listened to every readily available Sigur Ros song in a row. Time for bed perhaps.

Is it odd that, when I try to call someone, I sit and stare at my phone for at least 10 minutes before I actually call them?

Sometimes I get nervous when calling people over the phone. I can't really explain why without sounding a little crazy.

Me too. Phoning people is a terrifying prospect. At least, if they're people I like.

Exactly! It's only with my friends. If I have to call the doctor or order pizza or something, I'm fine.

I am exactly the same way. I've never been able to determine exactly why I feel that way, it's kind of puzzling.

:p Bleh. I prefer making people squee with delight. Especially ladies. ^w^ Because if there is one thing I love more than anything else, it's cute stuff. And nothing is cuter than a girl going "d'aww" over another adorable thing.

    Speaking of which, BEAGLE PUPPIES!
