Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Don't do that Mister Buttons! Cerise cries, pulling him into a hug. We were only playing.
She turns to Jen. I'm sorry Jen, I don't think Mister Buttons likes playing dress-up.
Then back to Mister Buttons. But if he ever does something like this again, I'll show this picture to all his girlfriends in the alley.

You wouldn't dare!

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
"You can't go home like that, but you can go home dressed in some strange guy's clothes?" Paul grins tiredly, eyebrow quirked. "Your folks must be kinda odd, huh?" He stifles a yawn, afraid it'll turn into another coughing fit, and looks around the park. "I was thinking of just plopping myself down by a shady tree and catching some fresh-air nappage. I'm not sure I like the vibe here, though. Yeah. Provided you don't mind mess on an apocalyptic scale, we can go back to my place and get you cleaned up so you can face the dreaded parental units."

Giggling Jen nods, grabbing her shoes and jacket they make their way down stairs. Hold on one second, Jen runs back upstairs and comes back down with her notebook. Alright let's go

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Starla laughs quietly, her throat a bit raw from the smoke. "They'd notice a mess, believe me. My 'rents are...a bit retentive about cleanliness." She smiles faintly, but it doesn't touch her eyes. "As for WHAT I'm wearing? Well, they're as likely to notice that as they would if the president of Zimbabwe got a new car." She grins sheepishly. "My mom has OCD and cleans constantly. Dad's a research scientist, so it works for them. For their teenage daughter? Give me a good mess any day." She tries to slip her hand into Paul's. "And I don't mind bodyguarding while you sleep. You never know when an assassin might strike." She tries to laugh, but with the eerie feeling, it sounds hollow.

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Blood
In many ways, the struggles of Sunnydale could be boiled down to the need for blood. New blood, old blood, fresh blood, blue blood; everyone was looking for the grail, each one a little different from the rest.
The Principal wanted eternal blood, and was willing to shed whatever other kind of blood was necessary. The Master and his childer sought blood for more basic purposes. The lineage of Slayers was hopelessly entwined with the blood of demons and the blood of vampires. Society sought blue bloods and hotbloods; business was run by old blood in a silent war with new blood. Love enflamed the blood of all it touched; and magic sang in the blood. Students were a muddle, dealing often for the first time with the potency of their own blood and the blood of others.
And there were others, whose blood both blessed and cursed them...
The werewolf known as Oz, for instance. While he gained considerable physical benefits from his werewolf heritage, he paid a great many social prices, and though he was well regarded now, he had not always been so - teenage awkwardness was only compounded by his unusual heritage. Yet it provided him with a measure of protection from the monsters in Sunnydale; vampires generally found dealing with werewolves to be .. inefficent, at best.
None of which explained why young Oz was running through Camperdown Park, a pack of near-silent vampires in hot pursuit.
He was fast, feral, and knew the ground. They had the advantage of numbers and guidance; never breaking off enough to allow him to pick off a straggler and burst through to freedom; and the unnatural weather continued to screen the sun. A howl tore from his lips in frustration; he knew, instinctively, that he was being herded somewhere.
Indeed. He loped into a clearing, and skidded to a stop - in the middle of the clearing was an unwanted, familiar face; twisted and hideous.
"No point in running, young wolf," the Master said as his hounds closed the circle.
"Oh, right, your vampires aren't going to hurt me, they just want to be friends."
"Actually, in a sense, that is exactly correct, young Oz," the master hissed. "We ... wish to give you a new family."
"Oh, come on now - did you really think 'that poor tormented werewolf pariah' is so desperate, he'd leap at the chance to drink blood and avoid the sun."
"No. Not really," the Master replied. He turned his back on Oz, and began to walk away. "Cut him down," he said as he left.
Oz shuddered as he surrendered the last of his humanity to the beast; rippling into an enormous bipedal mass of claws, teeth and fur.
The vampires pulled out silver knives. And there was ...
Blood
Murska was slain by Vampires. He was Oz the Werewolf.

I also note Xander (me) was under the effects of that auto-bane, and NOT Murska. Also I'm a horrible person when it comes to cleaning out my inbox, so if anyone got a full inbox message its open now...

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Whoa whoa whoa there. That be a typographical error. It would be suicidal to the bad guys if I made one of the Lovers make the Baner autobaned. Oz and Cordelia are protected by autobane as intended (not as written, where sadly the text of the rule was written before we juggled a couple of the character names).
Oz died because Oz was vulnerable. This occured because I received no PM indicating his use of "Everybody loves Oz/Oz Loves everybody" which is not a passive (automatic) ability. If it was automatic, it would be too easy for Oz to maintain his pseudoinvulnerability.Last edited by Helgraf; 2009-12-16 at 11:13 PM.

I've lost track of this game a bit, but seem to remember that I found Fleeing Coward suspicious.

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Well, I had, to the best of my knowledge, used the ability by sending a PM to both narrators which included, among other things, my intent to not be stupid and use an ability instead of letting my protection dissipate on it's own. Apparently the narrators haven't received this PM and I have no way of proving that I have actually sent it so... bad luck, I guess.

Re: Vampire III: Sunnydale Nights
Helgraf if you have PM's sent to you by e-mail you could look through that and try to find one by Murska...
and I do remember Helgraf saying that Shadow's PM box got full at some point, so Murska if you sent it after that (to both narrators), though luck.
