Well naturally she wouldn't. But you can have sequels with entirely new characters. :3

That's why I asked what Fizzmaister meant. But more likely than not, my LP after this one will either be me really giving Azure Dreams the attention it needs to work, or possibly a Harvest Moon game. Or maybe something else. I'm actually not a huge pokemon fan, as a whole.

Edit: You know all those times I delayed or pushed things around citing deadlines for work on my thesis? Well, I talked to my advisor today, and he said he was impressed by just how much work I had done. Just wanted to say it was worth something.

Anyway, while I'm here, I switch the regular team back in.
And head on for adventure!

He stares at my skirt accusingly.

I step out onto the new island, when I see a familliar figure. Beau. He forces a jocular smile.

"...Listen, Beau..."

I am trying to think of what to say. Nothing's coming to mind. My hands are clammy, but my heart's beating so fast.

He waits, but I'm still -- my tongue's on the roof of my mouth, and not moving. I am. such. a coward. It's all I can think.




"Beau..."
Beau: "Listen, woman, what the heck do you want from me? I snarked, gave you advice, and you sat there like a stunned lump!"
"Because I was too terrified to move, because I'm trying to think of what to say!"
"...What, about all that stuff at the league? Don't worry about it. I... I was being stupid. Just ignore it all. Let's just go back to how things were."
That'd be easy. We'd banter, searching around each-other like hawks. Forever.
We'd always be trying to get ahead, fighting one another.
We'd never be apart for long.

I could do that. It'd be easy. This man with his loping walk and his arrogant little tilt of the head -- this man with the hair so spiky there isn't enough mousse in the world to make it so -- this man whose face, stained by tears, is an aching place in my heart.... We'd never leave each other.
It'd be... easy.

"Well? Whaddya think?"
"...Easy isn't right."

"What the heck is that supposed to mean?"
"It means shut up!"
"...Ok?"
I take a few more deep breaths.
"It means... It means..."
It means I lean across a space that feels like miles (and maybe for a second, it is -- this is a magical universe, after all).
I kiss him.
I don't think there could have been a better kiss: not when he started kissing me back, and a high wave threatened our feet and ankles, and the rush of water and the rush of his breath in my mouth all swirled together, and all the world was a maelstorm of touch. Not when I’ve pulled my arms around him and have a handfull of the back of his hair, where the spikes are short enough to feel light and feathery.
Not when it totally shut him up, too.
I exalted -- because I had all the courage I needed, just when I needed it. I think I hear applause, since it seems like every pokemon I know ships us.
After a while, we seperate.
"That was...That was...What was that?"
"My first kiss. What else would it be?"
"No, not like that! I mean what -- I mean why --"
"...Because I love you, you idiot."
He blinks.
"I always did, more or less."
More stunned blinking.
"Come on, Beau. It's so obvious everyone can see it -- well, OK, except me... I mean..."
I stumble off. Apparently, no, I still can't quite say things to this guy that both convey my feelings and don't make me sound like a stammering moron. Well, one step at a time.
"Seed...I always liked you, too. I just always figured you thought you were better than me."
"...Why would you think that?"
"...Well, you were always insulting me."
"Because you were always insulting *me*!"
"Oh.”
“And you were insulting me because I was insulting you because you were insulting me because I was insulting --”
”Stop, stop!... Let’s just agree we missed the point.”
“Yeah.”
”So...Ummm...What now?”
We stood there for what felt like a small eternity.
“I dunno. When I’m done beating legendaries, wanna...I dunno...Go to dinner or something?”
”Sounds great. Hey, I gotta boat to catch....”


“What does that even mean?”

I shake my head and decide to look around.

“But we allow a fuller interaction of pokemon, since you can keep many pokemon at once here.”
Hmm. Well, it does look pretty peaceful. Maybe I’ll let Nuriko keep trying to teach the birds how to not be sociopaths here.

Heck, yeah…Why not! I head towards the pokemon center to go fetch some people, talking on the way.



…Now I wonder if maybe leaving Nuriko with them there would be a bad ideas. Because it sounds like there are some fairly intuitive processes going on.

I have a question, you guys: should I give the Spike/Terra/ChuChu thing a clear and direct resolution? Because I can see where I could give one, and I know what it would be. But I don't have to, or, at least, I don't know if I have to. I'm thinking the bulk of you guys might see it just as a bit of character interaction that doesn't need to be resolved, as opposed to a plot that does. And this is one of those instances where it wouldn't hurt me much either way, so I'm turning it over to a vote.

If it's open to the reader's imagination, I'm not wholly sure it's different from my 'don't show a resolution' plan, where I just assume what I think would happen happens after the story's over, as opposed to starting to happen in the next chapter and continuing to work through itself for a while. Anyway, I think trying to make character-interaction-driven resolutions ambigious enough that it could go either way... Would involve a level of artifice that would call uncomfortable attention to itself.

Also, next chapter may take a while. I've been kind of run-down recently, if the schedule slip doesn't make that clear. Not to mention I only decided to do this poll, like, now.

It's *a* resolution. But you don't get to vote on how it resolves, only if it resolves on-screen.
