I vote for keeping them in reserve, actually.

It was said best in the last update, they serve the world best by simply being. They are as purely "them" as they are going to be, with little room for lasting change. Were I Seed, I'd be cautious about the consequence of even giving them nicknames. And what happens when one of them faints in her employ, let alone all three?

I say treat them as firearms. Pull them out of the box for a little contained firing practice every so often, but otherwise keep them locked up unless you absolutely need them.

Don't like it, honestly. Doesn't give the same feel of power and nobility...the Nords may disagree, but since we're speaking english here I just don't find Nordic names to seem properly epic (they can be great for some circumstances but I don't think they fit the character of these particular legendaries). I tend to invent names, actually, although sometimes I make references to Greek/Roman/Egyptian/random other mythology.

The only names that match that I know of are from magic the gathering. I'm sure the weird sisters from Macbeth have names but I forget them. From Magic there's

Emrakul, Ulamog and Kozilek.

Who are leaders of an entire race known as the Eldrazi. Although there's nothing above them, so that probably wouldn't fit.

You could also go for the names of the titans. Mnemosyne for Moltres, Crius for Zapdos and Tethys for Articuno. Although, the only reason I have for this is that they were the fire, wind and water titans respectively in an old cartoon movie, and I don't know if they're actually the titans for fire, wind and water.

As a matter of fact, they do not. They are never referred to anything other than the "weyward sisters" or "weyards."

According to Wikipedia (I'm good with the gods but not so much the titans), Mnemosyne is the personification of memory, Tethys is the personification of rivers and water, and Crius...doesn't actually have any known significance, outside of being mentioned in the titans' war and consorting with various other titans

Like I said, I got my info from an animated movie where it showed those names in the credits. Specifically "Hercules and Xena the battle for mount Olympus."

Closer to about 6, not counting slight variations between the literal romanization and the official names (Cobalion/Cobalon, Landorus/Landlos, etc.). That's half of them, and two of the others are from Gen IV's Lake Trio (Mespirit/Emit and Azelf/Agnome). The last one is Thundurus/Voltolos.

I've always liked to name the legendary birds after divine figures related to their elements. My favorites:

• Zapdos: Wakiya, the Lakota name for Thunderbird.
• Moltres: Pele, Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes.

My suggestion is that they start with no nickname, the trio refusing out of pride or Seed being too uncomfortable with forcing it on them when they're obviously displeased by the idea. Later, after some time under Seed's 'employ', they grow comfortable enough with the idea to accept or suggest one for themselves.
