Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Dude, they're named Spaceship and Station. How much more differentiation could you need?
Also, your arguement doesn't hold water. A.I.s aren't "designed", remember? They were an accidental creation. We could reproduce them once we'd figured out the combination but that doesn't mean we have any idea what specifically has to happen to influence their personality and behavior. Also, what's wrong with what station did? It's sort of unprofessional but then again it's not like they are peers. I get the feeling that she's only up here because the government wants to keep an eye on an actual, legitimate mad scientist.Witty sig here nosey, aren't ya?

Also, you get the distinct impression this is not the first time Station and the Lieutenant have butted metaphorical heads.

If it's too soon for zero-G makeouts with hot scientist chicks, I wonder what Marten's views are on zero-G makeouts with hot military chicks?

I don't see how it's blackmail, photos enter the public domain when you put them on the web (where would he have gotten that if not off facebook or something like it?), nope and also nope. I think you might be blowing it out of proportion, it just seems like a minor prank to me.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Well, it's more along the lines that she's being reasonable, explaining WHY she has to do what she does, even if it is silly, and Station is taking embarrassing pot shots at her despite her being nice about it.

Embarassing her like that in front of strangers just because she tried to do her job. She admited, that her job is pointless, but she would get in trouble, if she didn't do it. What the station did was uncalled for and significantly rude. Source of the photos is irrelevant.
In a war it doesn't matter who's right, only who's left.

Lasers are overrated... I'm sure medicine is much more complicated and honestly, even if someone was apro with lasers I wouldn't let him touch me if medicine was just hir "hobby"...
But we still got pony. Awesome

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Bernadette is a female name, and the character design is female overall.
I'd say it's more likely being implied that medical work basically only comes in spurts, as it's close enough quarters that any new viruses that people bring on board will make the rounds quickly and not reinfect people who already had it and so there's not an open enough environment to get sick generally.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
I'd guess most of her call for serving as physician is likely more tending to work accidents- lab errors, physical job injuries and the like. Well, that and doing standard exams, tending to any long-term/manageable conditions the crew has, writing necessary prescriptions (..I'd have to assume Station has a stocked pharmacy or can synthesize drugs or something).. mm.. actually, even if she prefers LASERS (and who doesn't) there should be enough medicine to do on that station to keep a single physician going more than full time, even if most of it is boring routine stuff.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
I'm well aware but I was speaking in general terms, whether the person would be a man or woman I'd not want the person to handle me.
I guess tyckspoon has a point, I guess... and for some serious diagnosis I guess they could always call QCverse' equivalent of House...
Poor Hanners had a sad childhood... nothing new. But I'm glad she seems to not bother with it. Brave girl.

:(
Hanners has made enormous progress. I would give her a hug, except a hug from a stranger would probably freak her out...

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Saw a clip of an actual OCD person while flipping by some afternoon talk show. I'm so glad Hannalore has broken out (at least some) out of the prison it creates.

Hanners is one of the more realistic portrayals of OCD I've seen in fiction, which is nice, because I've got OCD myself and a lot of people don't understand it.

Re: Questionable Content 4: Attack of the 60-Inch AnthroPC
Considering that Hanners was able to bring two guests onboard ( on an otherwise empty flight) with what seemed like a few days notice, it dosn't sound like getting people to and from the station is that big a deal. If there is any serious medical issue onboard ( one that can be handled by lasers and whatever medical AI they have) they can probably either send the patient down or bring a specialist up.

Which is funny, because I actually preferred Hannelore when she first joined the comic.
Now she just seems so fanservice-y for creepy people, or something. Meh.
