Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Ah, but is he still crazy for her now that he's Head Minion?
He didn't even notice her until now, and she's been tagging along for awhile.
Besides, it doesn't even make a good Ship name! How could it possibly work?Lead Designer for Oracle Hunter GamesToday a Blog, Tomorrow a Business!

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
This is exactly why the Spark Love Triangle is boring.
On one side you have gems like Agamesh and Gilgatha.
On the other you have, what, Agavek? Targatha?
Really, it's no contest.
That said, I don't see why Moloch has to choose. Sanna and Violetta can take turns being Moloch's Girlfriend / Othar's Spunky Girl Sidekick. Trading off an on every few months.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
What about the third ship? I would suggest MolSnaug if it weren't for the fact that it sounds like a teen makeout session.
Cheap jokes about shipping cliches aside, I really don't care who (if any) he ends up sharing a bunk with. I'm more interested to see him continue to evolve in his role as Alpha Minion. He's in a unique position, being able to not only have common sense (an even larger oxymoron than military intelligence) but also to drive it through the thick skulls of other minions and even sparks. That's pretty darn amazing, really.
It helps that Moloch has seen Agatha through from when she was just rather dim schoolgirl, which nobody else - not even Gil - can say. That keeps the glow of sparky charisma at bay, I imagine, allowing him to maintain a clear head. And a clear head, coupled with a mechanical aptitude and a lot of experience, is probably a more dangerous weapon than any death ray Agatha can build.Last edited by Calemyr; 2012-07-27 at 06:57 PM.

1 Jammy Dodger (I was promised tea)
1 Godwin Point.

Well, the most dangerous thing on the planet is a second lieutenant with a map and a compass, so I think a minion with common sense and good mechanical skills is probably a close second.

Yeah, Agatha couldn't really want for a better Chief Minion. Moloch's ability to keep his head in a crisis has been impressive. And Mechanicsburg should do right by him.
Moloch is like a guy who lands on his feet after a fall and has no idea how he did it or whether it's even a good idea.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
To be fair, he's been a bit distracted. He's got at least one and probably two Sparks with him, once of whom is weird even by Sparky standards. He's got a bunch of semi-criminal minions he's got to ride herd on to keep from doing anything that would move them into full criminal range. Snaug probably clamped onto his arm the moment she saw Sanaa and hasn't willingly let go for long since. AND he's running around repairing the really broken parts of Mechanicsburg in the middle of a war. Also, I would also imagine Sanaa hasn't been putting herself too forward while she watches and wonders how von Zinzer went from fool to super-minion... But now we'll see what happens. Since he doesn't have a coffee cup the surrounding area is safe, but his dignity may not be.
(I wonder exactly why all the Castle prisoners ARE following Moloch's lead now. They could have stayed in the Castle and been fairly safe; instead they're out where bullets might start flying any minute putting things back together. Maybe it's a simple as "If Mechanicsburg falls, we'll probably go with it, so we better do join in the fun". Or maybe some of the more forward thinking ones are looking at getting jobs with Agatha if they all get through this alive. They ARE minions, after all; and Agatha is both ruler of a city and a Super-Spark...)

Yup the minion love triangle is a lot more fun than the sparky one.

Oh boy, still laughing out loud from this one.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
The life of an alpha minion is fraught with problems and perils. Though if it's also full of attractive women who totally want you, I may have to go out and find myself a spark to cosy up to. Moloch got his start because he and his brother stole Agatha's necklace. So maybe stealing women's jewelry is the key. Then again, I suppose a very similar crime also produced Batman. Hmm, this may be more complex than I first thought.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I imagine the life of the chief minion can be as wildly variable as the sparks involved.
Consider some others:
Boris does not seem flush with romantic entanglements... although for several reasons he totally should be.
Since you mentioned Bat Man (who is a spark if ever there was one), Alfred seems to have a fairly pleasant, but romance-free life.
I have the impression that there was a high turnover in chief minions under the previous administration at Sturmhalten.
Vrin? 'Nough said.
The poor graduate student from a few weeks back? Well, there's still some hope there.
The life of a chief minion seems like a total crap-shoot, and often filled with power and reward right up until it spectacularly isn't.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I cant help but think that the only reason he is being so effective as a chief minion is the fact that he REALLY doesnt want to be there, and is basically only doing this until he can get away. Its keeping him from being swept up by the sparky madness. So if he were to suddenly embrace the fact that he is in charge and wants to stay and serve the mistress, his sanity would likely take another dive.

Wow, the Professor looks like Klaus suddenly.
Edit: I'm thinking of Gil telling his dad that he's the only constant in his relationship problems to be blamed, and Klaus looking floored while saying "No, no I don't think so".Last edited by Occasional Sage; 2012-07-30 at 08:30 AM.

Let us all BOW before the greatness that is von Zinzer!!!!
Snaug's stress relief habits are really a bit... unusual. We need to get a bit more backstory on her...

But he let them out for Christmas! Well, all except for the control group. That would have compromised the experiment.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
That joke made me kinda look awkwardly. It just was pushing too far in my opinion. It was funny in the same way Bioshock Little sisters are funny (They are not).
Just think of those children, as a man stuffs them in a tube, and starts injecting them with strange stuff. They don't know if their going to die or not. And then they start to warp and change. Thought replaced with animal instinct.
It just feels more like a horror scenario to me. Showing what a twisted abomination of a person the profesor is.
