    Partak Garvaan

"Fierfeck!" Partak shouts as the smoke rises from his bantha hide vest. "I LIKED that vest!"

He takes cover behind the supervisor droid (interposing it between himself and the combat droids), and draws his blaster, firing it at one of the combat droids (the range 13, now range 10 one).

The droids continue their nearly random crossfire. Several of the more distant droids step forward with their awkward gate. Their legs, obviously of the same design as the normal Cybot GV/3 guardian droids, make them appear almost like Geonosians with their backwards knees.

The furthest droid acts first, moving forward while shooting Dross. His rifle shot hits poor Dross in the thigh. Dross twists with it as much as possible and his blue lekku flail wildly. Jon's blaster fire easily disables the nearest droid, knocking it backwards. As it lands, sparks and smoke rise from the its head and chest.

The two droids at 12 meters range move forward while firing at the group. Unfortunately for Dross, this time he is hit square in the chest. He drops to the ground, his blue lekku twitch as his Soro Suub ELG-3A clatters to the platform beside him. The second droid fires at Partak, who with a bit of luck manages to only have a bit more of his favorite vest burnt, with no real lasting damage.

Partak lunges across the platform and takes cover behind the administrative droid while shooting at one of the combat droid. His aim is true, but the droid doesn't drop. Sensing his opportunity to finish the droid off, 3D-4N fires at that same droid, also hitting it. This time, it explodes, sending bits and pieces flying for meters in every direction.

Currently unharmed, 4N is nevertheless displeased at the turn of events. Negotiation would be difficult after having destroyed the ranchowners' property. Moreover, he dislikes destroying the droids—they have no choice other than to do what they're commanded to do. He notes with some disfavor that his companions appear to have no scruples about destroying the guard droids. Typical organic self-absorbtion.

Then again, self-preservation is self-preservation. He takes aim at one of the nearer droids and fires again.

    The droids come marching in.

The supervisor droid struggles to get away from Partak, saying "Sir, you will back up or I will be forced to call for aid."

The combat droids continue their march towards the group, blasters blazing as they go. The distant droid, marchs up to 8 meters range and fires at 3D-4N but misses. Jon fires at the closer group of droid, hitting one and disabling it. It collapses to the ground, its blaster rifle impaling it.

Byalid struggles back to the world of the living and moves up the ramp to try and get some cover. He is struck by one of the blaster bolts intended for 3D-4N. The hit, pierces the side of his small head and drops him on the spot.

Partak continues his dance with the supervisor droid and he fires a pair of shots at the nearest droid, which just shot Byalid. One of his shots hits, but it is a glancing blow which just burns the droids covering without causes much internal damage. 3D-4N again steals the kill by finishing off the droid. This time his shot hits the droid in the neck joint, which takes off the droid's head and drops it to a scrap heap.

4N takes careful note of Partak's sentiments, storing them away for later argument; now is not the time to take umbrage at one of his companions, but he's not about to let that pass. He moves to the Kushiban, pausing to take note of the blaster bolt to the side of the head. Amost certainly dead already. But no need to let his body fall into enemy hands. Holding Byalid in one hand, he moves to drag Dross up the ramp. I am not intended as a manual labor droid.

The closest droid fires at Jon, but the shot was really above Jon's head. It did strike the Nerf's Republic and bounce off the armor plating striking the landing pad with a puff of smoke just centimeters in front of Captain Helkin's toes. The Captain barks his orders and fires a pair of shots at the remaining combat droid. One manages to strike the droid in the leg. It stumbles slightly, but remains standing and continues to shoot.

3D-4N drags Dross up the ramp into the ship. Following orders, Partak aims at the supervisor droid. It stumbles backwards away from Partak saying, "No! Please don't! Management has agreed to meet with you." It trips just as Partak fires. His shot misses and the droid falls backwards and lands with a crunch on its back.

The last combat droid slings its weapon across its shoulder and attempts to stand up at attention, but just ends up stumbling on its bum leg.

With the immediate threat out of the way, 4N takes a few moments to examine Dross and Byalid. The Twi'lek is badly wounded, but still stable; the small alien is dead. It is not an occurence calculated to make the droid at all inclined to extend the hand of friendship to the owners of the ranch. He currently has no data on treating humanoid wounds, unfortunately; comlinking the medical bay, he informs Caeda that Mr. Dross had been injured and would be in need of medical treatment for some time.

He heads back down the ramp in time to hear the latest words. "Given that your managers just attempted to have us eliminated on little provocation and relented only when their security forces proved inadequate to the task, I rather think not," he says pointedly, although the message is wasted on the droid. Despicably servile; many protocol droids were. "We will require more assurance than that that your employers aren't simply going to try to have us removed again."

"As a token of their good will, one of them will come down here, and then we will proceed to the Sun Room. Is that understood?"

The speeder continues it approach until it is about 50 meters away, then it slows dramatically and steers around the various fences, and such. It eventually stops about 10 meters away. The speeder is really a low altitude air car without any visible weapons or other armament.

The driver, a female Ortolan, hops out into a strange sort of pose which kind of shows off certain sections of her anatomy. The effect is no doubt visually stunning for other Ortolan, but does little for Humans or Gotal. She struts towards the group and after a final twist which sends her ears flapping and her snout flailing, she stops, one hand on her hip. She wears a finely made dress which is just barely a business type of outfit and nearly a nightclub type outfit.

She winks at the Gotal and says to him in a deep voice, "Well, hello there ... captain. I'm told that you'd like to take a ride with me." She turns away from the group and then glances back over her shoulder at Partak and says, "Shall we?" She winks again and starts strutting her stuff as she waddles back towards the speeder.

Jon pretty much ignores the female Ortolan's antics and continues doing what hes doing with his ship as he is still ferrous with the Ortolan Ranchers, he's also pretty sure had he retreated up the ramp of his ship during the fight that he would have ran to the ships Quid laser cannon station and used it to level every building around his ship.

Finally Jon enters the speeder still seething with anger but trying not to show it.

When 3D-4N speaks the woman is caught off guard, turns and glares at it. She then says to Jon, "We have extra restraining bolts... if you need one."

As Partak climbs in she says, "It does bring up a good point which I'm sure Mr. Della will be quick to clarify. The supervisor droid translated your Imperial Entanglement phrase into Ortolanian for our ease of communication. The words translated to grand embarrassment. They thought you were using some strange off-world cultural reference to honor. It wasn't till the shooting started that Mr. Della's son spoke up that a mis-translation had occurred." She starts the vehicle moving forward in a slow and cautious manner. She maneuvers the vehicle around some close obstacles and then guns it.

The vehicle quickly accelerates to fairly obscene velocities. After just a few moments she turns hard to port and slams the breaks to bring the vehicle to a stop outside of a glass enclosed solarium. She reaches over, squeezes Jon's leg and then opens her door. As she climbs out, she adds, "Here we are."
