Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
That's funny. A 3.5 is about average at my school.
My grade has a total of about 45 kids in it.
We also call teachers by their first name.
We didn't get letter grades until 7th grade.
It's so freakin' awesome. It was founded by two Holocaust survivors who wanted to make a tolerant, safe community to learn in. Of course, nowhere's perfect, but it's still freakin' amazing. The artist formerly known as Tired N' Drowzy, master of puns.

This is the song Nameless wants to play.
I challenge you to watch/listen to it with giggling. It's so ridiculous.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Not really. All my classes are basically automatically honors classes, no exceptions. It's not so much harder as it is easier and faster. With smaller class size, you can ask more questions, move through the material faster, and, best of all, not have to wait behind for the slower kids.
The sad thing, though, is that some schools have honors classes get an automatic +1 GPA, so a 5.0 GPA is possible, and a 4.5 is very easy to obtain. It doesn't really matter, though, since I get two bonus college credits just for going to the school through high school.
As I said, private school. That means different rules and such. The artist formerly known as Tired N' Drowzy, master of puns.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Happy birthday, Puppetmaster.
Also, I have a mini hurdy-gurdy. It isn't that bad, it's basically a sort of wheel with little spikes all over it in certain locations. Each spike pricks a certain note at the right time. And I wouldn't compare it to a violin, more like a guitar.

I'd need a much better beard and lots of chalk dust for that, I think.

I'm kinda bored. Should I make a comic showing the gang (consisting of Baby Q, Oliver, the Detta and Keveak) going to Dettaburger or are we not doing that?

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Rather than going to Detta Burger, why don't we just... you know... maybe... advance the plot ? It's been a long while since anybody made a comic about the main plot.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Do NOT Insult this band, they're one of the bands that are leading the folk metal seen in Europe.
Mixing culture with modern culture is probably the best thing that can happen to music.
@Threeshades: The Hurdy Gurdy part is easy to physicaly play on guitar, but hard to memorise, I'll learn the guitar too.

Nameless, that doesn't change the fact that it sounds ridiculously silly.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Music is all about opinion Mechafox, to you it sounds silly, to me and many others it doesn't.
And these guys took that risk when them along with several other bands and ended up creating a whole new type of metal which has was never even thought about.
It also encouraged many musicians who play these instruments to actually get out there and do something with it, people that before would've only been able to busk in the streets with these instruments because of their unpopularity. And for that you have to respect them.
If you think it sounds silly, that's fine, but it's just an opinion and it doesn't mean that it is silly.
All they're really doing is modernising Ancient Pagan/folk music with metal.
Both Genre's are amazing, and together they're even better.
There's nothing silly about that.Last edited by Nameless; 2008-11-14 at 01:36 PM.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I'm not sure creating a "new type of metal" is really a great accomplishment. I mean, anyone can create a new genre of metal.
Here. Raspy metal voice + kazoos. Kazoo metal. I just invented that. I'm a musical visionary.
Don't get me wrong, the song is catchy. It's just that voice... that stock metal voice singing over the bagpipes... it makes me laugh. It's so out of place.Last edited by Fawkes; 2008-11-14 at 02:18 PM.
