Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
There is, Harm means survivor, and my younger bro was born at 26 weeks. He survived.
It used to be more common, but traditional Dutch names are dying.
Not very well.
Like I said, stands for survivor.
Not at all.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
That, officially speaking, is awesome. I like it when people choose names in meaningful ways, so long as the name chosen isn't complete bunk. There's a girl I went to high school with who named her daughter Heaven Leigh Angel. I guess some people like it, but I think it's corny. I'm not sure I'd want to be named something like that (even if I was a girl ).
Harm sounds like an fantastic name, though, given the context.
That's sad. Hopefully, people there aren't choosing to name their kids the same kind of crap a lot of Americans are anymore (like my friend, above).
Ah, then that's another reason why they didn't have any problem with the name.
My name means 'the supplanter.' Probably not as appropriate as your brother's.
That's good.
What, I don't know thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuugh!

Richard Mueller?
I always thought your first name was supposed to be a pet you had. In which Case my pr0n name would be Chance Mueller.
Richard is a great name because of the awesome nickname that my high school buddies gave me, which would actually fit pr0n better but annoy the censors...

Well, they don't exist so I shouldn't have to listen to people telling me they do when they don't.
All people have reality - manipulating Anglo - powers; they just need to access them. I'd provide a manual, but I'd be cryptic and not actually ever let anyone understand it until they unlocked the sercret of Anglo - power.
And so does Curly. Muchly. That is a wonderful room.
I have also recently become more infamous in Classics because of my passionate hatred of Antigone from Antigone; there's no real redeeming feature about her and I dislike her with a nice fury that makes people laugh.
Oh, Oldest Younger Brother got hit by a car yesterday. He's in deep trouble because he didn't tell her until this morning.
Wasn't hurt, but he definitely scared the driver. It was a hit and run only in that EYB got hit, fell down, got up and ran.
So, yeah. He's grounded.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Middle name would have to be M something...
Some day I want to name a dog Meowsr, just to be ironic.
Diamondback is a pretty cool street name. I remember once I was driving through Kilmore - a town in Victoria - which contained a "seperation street". The perfect place for new couples
I laughed harder, however, when we drove past the Kilmore Hospital.Last edited by Felixaar; 2008-10-24 at 09:11 AM.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
[sarcasm]I love my teacher, she's so nice.[/sarcasm]
Get this: My teacher decided she would be nice. We'd just turned in a horrible assignment the previous day, Wednesday, so when we went to class on Thursday, she says. "Alright, guys, so you know we have to do that next assignment for Monday, right?"
The class grunts or mumbles. We did remember.
"Well, I don't want to be mean. I don't want to give you homework for the weekend."
The class looks up. Amazing, we thought.
"So instead of making it due Monday! I'm changing the due date!"
The class is excited about it.
"Instead, you have to turn it in due tomorrow! "

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
Teachers like that had a habit of finding nasty surprises in their desks and on their chairs when I was still in school...
Then I went to a college that took Professor Reviews very seriously and more than a few found out just how badly stuff like that could come back to bite them in the rear.

There is a good chance that she wants to have the weekend available so she would have the time to grade the work.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
No; for getting hit by a car going just under 30mph.
Re: Koorly teaching Ancient Greek. She picked up the resources her teacher has, a fair few of them - six books (all around one course - one teachers note, one vocab; two textbooks, another textbook, pronouncing said language and one other; plus a cassetee for said books); being inquisitive she looked in them.
Aorist?
Genititive?
Dative?
So many tenses; morphology and it assumes you know someething about it already. Or I'm just looking in the wrong parts of each book.

Re: Cristo's Consistently Confusing and Constantly Casual Random Banter #105
I'm not familiar with the Aorist, but Genitive and Dative are common in most indo-european languages (though a fair few have lost them, including English, Dutch, and French)
Basically, the Genitive is used to show possession, and is one of the cases West-Germanic languages seem the most reluctant to get rid of.
Examples of the Genitive in English:
My father is smart.
In His youth, the King's strength was legendary.
It's not uncommon for people to forget their heritage.
Curly's books hold terms she doesn't know.
I'm not too sure about examples for the Dative, but I could come up with some if given time.٩๏̯͡๏)۶
