Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Ah, I've missed seeing you around to Sneak, I'm amazed your not with a cat like avatar though
You see your rather terribly overdone "special" pun the Happy Birthay Death thread?
You inspired me to attempt doing one for each person. I shouldn't have

Indeed, that's more pun damage than I've taken in many months, Death. I must say, I've also missed seeing you around

I've decided to go into hiding for a bit. And yes, I did see the pun. I must say, your puns are quite deadly.

Hmmm, so now I must be delinquent? But I don't want to! I refuse to give in to your societal norms. Take the fight back to the system!
Also, where is my cow?

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
It would have been more effective if I: a) liked math and b) was interested in it past GCSE - where I put very little effort into the cursed subject.
If you abbreviate a word you remove all the letters after the point you cut it off.
So it's math.

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
*snort*
Much of English is made up; or derived from typos in dictionaries or contractions of pre - existing words.
But mainly made up. Shakespeare introduced 20 000 odd words or gave a new definition to to the English language; Milton did some 1 000 still quite common (the most famous being Pandaemonium) and we nick words from all over the shop.
I'm just as right as the folks at the OED.

All you crazy Brits. Don't you realize that Americans perfected the language that you supposedly started...
Case in point, I don't know what you guys are talking about half the time.Last edited by TwoBitWriter; 2008-11-10 at 02:07 PM.

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Take Dutch.
Add a bunch of Romance words.
Invent fake pronouncement to show it's not Dutch.
Make up some nonsensical spelling system.
Let it gestate for a while.
Presto, English.٩๏̯͡๏)۶

Dutch is crazy. I heard this guy speaking it on the phone, and I thought he was speaking English until I actually listened.

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Also, English is stupid and lame. People who like books are stupid and they don't matter. Drama is an idiotic subject taken by people who are too stupid to do anything else.
In fact, I think anyone who didn't take a maths or science-based subject is a moron. Ah hahahahahaha.
Funny, eh?

There are people at my school that actually think like that, PZ. It is uncool. And this is a primarily liberal arts school.
