Re: Crack Pairings IV - You Can't Unread It
That might be a bad idea, since it can be interpreted as "Yeah, lock us down and we'll just create a new thread." Which is flaunting one's disobedience to the rules. No, if the thread gets locked, then someone (perhaps Fiddler) takes a long, sincere talk with the mods about why the thread got locked and what new rules need to be in place. Mods willing, s/he then creates a new thread, tells us about the new rules and lets us understand that it's up to us... do we want a crack pairings thread or not?

Re: Crack Pairings IV - You Can't Unread It
Well that makes since...
Anyways, I just want to say that my characters are based off of actual people on the forum, so it would be more like shipping then crack pairing. Also, I'd like to point out the Dark Fiddler will be in that comic soon. When I start it up again.
In case anyone is interested.

Black Mage isn't allowed to get any. It's like a multi-versal law. However, this ship could happen in a dream sequence that breaks off just before BM finally scores.
Ah, okay. Lloyd's comment just wasn't adding up in my head. Makes more sense now.

Which makes me wonder if Inky likes "Twilight." And if that would be acceptable grounds for divorce.
Perhaps I should say that Inky has wanted to lay V (presumable, since they got married.)
Too small a sample, and also self-selected. I prefer to speculate wildly.Last edited by Asta Kask; 2009-12-29 at 03:11 PM.

Here's an idea for you - Belkar has only two emotions towards people, hate and lust. Now, he clearly doesn't hate Shojo. So, logically... any takers?

Re: Crack Pairings IV - You Can't Unread It
As cringe-worthily hilarious as Shojo/Belkar would be, I think it's become obvious by this point that V's assessment of Belkar is lacking.
On an unrelated note

Re: Crack Pairings IV - You Can't Unread It
I've finished reading what you've done so far for Murphy's Law, CF. For the most part, I enjoy it. I think that it's clear that you're just getting started on establishing a world and set of characters of your own. Simply out of curiousity, and this isn't to be rude, but I'm wondering if this is the first time you've tried writing a series of your own. The only reason I'm asking is because of some of the quirks in the way its written reminds me of the first time I stepped out of fanfiction and attempted to create my own original piece without relying on characters who already had pre-established personalities and patterns of action and attitude.
One of the quirks I've observed was that, occasionally, you've fallen into extraneous dialogue. For example, in comic #7 when Llyod chides Matt on attempting to give him strategical advice and gets cut off mid-sentence. My assumption was that your motivation for part of this was to get us interested in Llyod's past, and I feel that it works. However, I personally think that Llyod referring to his past again two panels later is somewhat extraneous. It sounds more like something he'd think than something he'd say aloud, especially considering he's with a group of people he's only just met. While this could use work, it isn't bad; knowing what does or doesn't need to be set down is something that every writer struggles with, and few ever really get out of. Reviewing what you've written before finalizing it could help as well (a practice I myself have become lax on and need to get back into doing).
You also seem to be concerned about people liking Matt. For the moment, I'd say I'm more or less ambivalent towards him, mainly because we just don't know all that much about him yet and, without knowing more about him, his actions just seem like those of a self-absorbed jerk, though clearly not an evil-aligned one. He does, however, work as a good foil for Llyod, and I'd like to see you build up more of the dynamic between them.
For the most part, I find it a strong part, and can't wait to see more.
Silverraptor, I'll give your comic a read soon and tell you what I think, but due to certain circumstances I can't do it just this moment.Assistant Executioneer of the Fanclub
