Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
Well, maybe that's what happened to me. They just stopped loading after a while. And refreshing didn't work very well, either.

There's a difference between posting the archived comics like this:
Rob and Jack/Vox Populi:
Spoiler
And posting them like this:
Rob and Jack/Vox Populi:
The latter doesn't require your computer to load previously read comics OR to load comics you're not gonna read yet because you're only beginning the archives. It's just more efficient.

While that is the subject, allow me to say this:
As an Animation/Digital Art major, I took a class where we were taught a fair bit about web page format. According to statistics, it takes an average Internet user 10 seconds or less to look through a page and then move on. You have 10 seconds or less to catch people's attention. If a page isn't even loaded in 10 seconds, people are more likely to say "screw this" and leave.
Neither webcomics nor forum threads are the exception to this rule. You need to make your thread look attractive and to hook people to it. Fast access to the content is a good way of doing so.Last edited by Haruki-kun; 2009-11-07 at 11:24 AM.

It's been a bit, GitP. If you're reading this, you're either digging through old stuff, or I've posted for the first time in forever.
If you want to stay in touch, reach out to me on twitter (same username).
The best answer is always to ask your DM.
Unless you're the DM, in which case you should talk to your players.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
Unless you do the following: set your browser to not loading pictures. How easy this is depends on what browser you use, Opera does it easily for example. Load the page, quote the post which should hold the pictures, copy the urls into your browser and view the comics as if they were seperate links.
EDIT: Okay, here is my new webcomic I like to be reviewed, Opening.Last edited by Ichneumon; 2009-11-07 at 12:54 PM.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
Dig all the reviews so far, ironically this is almost the only comic I follow on here, and it's not even a real comic, strictly speaking.
My 100% original pixelart fantasy webcomic, Hero oh Hero.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
I'm sorry to bother you all again, but this sort of seems the place to ask this, and I don't want to create a thread for this...
Anyway, it's almost christmas again and I remember the Comic Secret Santa's we used to be doing, will there be something like that again this year and if so, I'd like to join in.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
I have no problem reviewing Dawn Of Yesterday, but Halo: Project Classified will be pretty difficult since all of chapter one has gone missing from your archives. I really would like to review that one, though, because I remember liking it. Please, if it isn't too much trouble, make all of your Halo: Project Classified comics visible for me.
I have an army? Of Fan comic creators? At my disposal?
Cool!

Oh, so all of a sudden you're my buddy again, huh? And I do have a long running cameo in your comic, huh?! I vaugely remember you disproving both of those statments not too long ago!
Then again, I could be wrong.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
Ouch, the Truth, it Hurts.
The beginning was actually me just really wanting to make the "Call to Adventure, Leave a message" joke. The interactive nature of the Comic also made it hard to follow. Since the choices in this case were fairly complex, I tried not to waste comic time showing them, instead skipping to the results of the comics. While for Me, and for the people who were following through the entire discussion thread, this makes sense, it would make somebody just reading the Comics get lost very quickly. Plus, while I love writing, especially for Comics, I found making the comics themselves a strenuous process (Usually involving Inkscape being stupid). Which means that I would find myself trying to squeeze a large amount of Ideas into a six panel comic.
On top of that, I found myself sticking to a "Six panels of the same size" format even when it wasn't a good thing. Which meant that I often had lots of blank space or characters just standing around doing nothing. For fight scenes, this meant alot of action as I tried to fill empty space.
What this also meant is that, quite often, I would provide Background detail by just posting stuff in the thread, rather than making a comic for it. This detail did not end up the archives, once again leading to the difficulty with following.
As for the Characters, I don't like to assign much in the way of character's personalities when I first make them, because I fear I'll end up making them too over the top (If I think of a character and say they are pessimistic, I fear that is all I will end up using the define the character). Sometimes they grow organically, in this case, not as much as I would have liked.
And for the Record, I intended to transfer the Archives to link form (Rather than having the comics there) for some time, I just never got around to it.

Re: The Q's Comic Review (Fancomic Writers Please Read!)
Personally I'm still counting down the reviews until Remember finally ends up on the chopping block.
5 more to go suckers!
The early artwork I think is crummy as heck but there's a definite progression of improvement throughout the story. Still, with over 200 comics, Q is gonna need a looooooong while to read through it, if he isn't alreadyLast edited by Lyinginbedmon; 2009-11-08 at 08:35 PM.

At least he isn't as bad as the Colin Baker doctor.
Although to be honest, if it was socially acceptable I would wear that jacket too.
