Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Try again, refresh your catch. I left a word out.
As for Naymark looking evil, well, he WAS a bloodthirsty maniac who, when he heard a peace treaty had been signed, attacked anyway, then led his troops on a bloody march against his own government. Don't believe the directorate's Lies! Naymark was a heroic freedom fighter who refused to let the Directorate leave his fellow soldiers to rot in Radian prisons, and then tried to overthrow them and re-establish the republic.
Of course, that depends on who you ask.Last edited by BRC; 2010-03-06 at 04:52 PM.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
New Comic, New Chapter, New Beginnings, New Exposition.
I'm not sure if the last panel here is great work on my part, or horrible work. Part of me says "Nice job on those shadows" and the other part says "Those shadows suck and the panel was altogether lazy".Last edited by BRC; 2010-03-08 at 12:28 AM.

Airplanes!
One thing you could try with the last panel is to make the bigger shadows a bit darker and the smaller ones lighter. If you want a OotS style Touhou avatar, send me a request.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Yes, Airplanes.
Nobody else has anything to say about this, or the previous chapter?? All I've got since the chapters end was a typo being pointed out, calls to move right ahead, and Airplanes! Apparently nobody has opinions about the first chapter itself.
This week has been rather busy, midterms and stuff, also, I havn't quite figured out Chapter 2 the way I had Chapter 1, so this might be a skip week as I study for tests/work on stuff/ plan out exactly what I want to happen in Chapter 2.
A comic may occur Monday anyway, but I wouldn't count on it.
So yeah, More comments Please!Last edited by BRC; 2010-03-11 at 01:44 PM.

Sorry. Little busy in Europe.
Chap 1 was an alright start to the story, but it didn't really seem to go anywhere. If you want a OotS style Touhou avatar, send me a request.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
So a comic ended up happening anyway. I had better things to do, but let's not look the gift horse in the mouth (Unless the person giving you the horse is Greek, and mad that you stole his wife, in which case check it, because there's probably soldiers inside).
So yeah, comments? Also, random Author Blurb
Spoiler
The main point of this particular comic, and the reason not much seems to happen in most of it, is to establish the effect the broadcast has had on the city. To show that the words "Laughing Jackal" have picked up significant meaning amongst the public.
Also, to try out my method for showing streetlights. Not too sure how well that turned out.

Street lights aren't bad, but maybe try angling them a bit more.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Because "they laugh, laugh like the jackal.". It was part of the famous aformentioned broacast
And it look like uncle Martyn is tad annoyed (or at least I assume he is, becaue getting the drop of someone like that doesn't look lke the action of someone who' in for a casual visit)
Also I liked the last comic, it gaves a bit of much needed background on the situation.Last edited by smuchmuch; 2010-03-16 at 07:18 AM.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
You're right about the quote, wrong about the character.
Check the Character's spoiler. Martin's hair is a different color (going prematurely gray, Years of stress, PTSD, Drug use, bad sleep, and enough mental conditions to give a psychiatrist a heart attack will do that to you), his eyes are sunken (Lack of sleep), and he has DMW (Dead Man Walking, Deathwishers were encouraged to make a joke out of Death, to think of themselves as Dead already so they would go unafraid into battle). This guy has none of those things.
Also, some Art that will make sense as the chapter proceeds:

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
(Well in my defense the guy in the appartement has glasses so I assume it covered the eyes. I really should have noticed the lack of tatoo, tough
I notice however, now that I reread the comic, that mystery man has been following her all day. I really didn't notice at first. It's nicely done (especialy the pannel when he's hidden in darkness)I'm sig'ing in the rain, just sig'ing in the rain....

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
It's monday, so wheres the comic...
THERE IT IS
A Chat at Gunpoint
Spoiler
So yeah, questions, comments ect?
Also, let's play Match the Revolution. In the above comic, Five attempts to overthrow the directorate are mentioned, and the mystery man mentions five leaders.
Lets see if you can match them! Some of them are fairly obvious, others you will have absolutely no clue about. Feel free to back up your guesses with the wildest theories.
Also, I probably won't make a comic for thursday, but I might make an informative something about the organizational structure of the DSF that explains exactly what Division 8 is.Last edited by BRC; 2010-03-22 at 07:55 AM.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Yes your right.
And he's holding a gun.
but I assume you're talking about the other thing, it's a box of cigarettes, I just needed him to do something so they weren't just standing/sitting there. Forgot to put it in later. My official explanation is that he took it out, then realized it's rude to smoke in somebody elses apartment without their permission, so he put them away.

I like these division 8 guys. It's a cool number. Of course, so is 3, but that's probably not the kind of comment you want to hear.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Yay! People read my comic!
@ Memnarch: That wasn't directed at you, but at others. I just found it odd that week after week you were the only one that said anything.
@ Szilard: oddly enough, all the other DSF characters we have met so far are part of Division 3.
@ The Silent Majority: Say somthing!
Also, I got sick of trying to squeeze the dialog bubbles into tiny spaces, so I upped all the sizes (Except font) by 50%. I think it's an improvement

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
I like how both the "Jackal" and the "FoxHound" are summoned to their posts by a mysterious man with a goatee and glasses-- who appear to be each other's counterparts--- one from the mysterious division 8--- and the other from a group representing those who made it past division 8. I really like the comic, I just wish there was more of it

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Sorry about the lateness. I'm currently fighting off Tech Week (If you haven't ever had the pleasure of mopping up gallons of fake blood, I envy you) a Spanish test that pops up out of nowhere, Borderlands (just beat it), and other general collegiate shenanigans.
This wasn't the full comic I was planning to make, but it fit nicely with the formatting/time. So yeah, I might be able to make another comic by Thursday.

For some reason, this inspired me to show you all a picture of myself.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
No comments? Ah well.
I made this during Tech Week for one of the most frustrating, tech-heavy shows I've ever been part of. Also, during what would have been a hell week at school anyway.
Be Grateful.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
We are grateful--
I take it that Elizabeth Valrine is the officer assigned to "get inside the jackal's head". I'm sure you have a personality picked out already, but its fun to speculate--- is she simply incredibly analytical, but boring. Is she a dedicated hunter with a fierce loyalty, and so on. from the picture you have drawn, she looks rather bookish, though that might just be the glasses.... and the clipboard

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
So you may have noticed a lack of comic. Blame Theater. This show is eating up my life, and I basically have 2 days off to get all the stuff I've been putting off done before it starts chewing me up again. Today, rather than making a comic, I spent my time telling Java how to identify prime numbers.
So yeah, Sorry. I might have something for Thursday, but no promises.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Hey Dear Reader(s). A call for help.
I decided that Maria and James need some unique outfits, at least for when they're acting in their respective capacities as the Laughing Jackal and Foxhound Alpha, I've got some ideas, but two heads are better than one.
Basically, give me any ideas you have for this, whether it's just a description, or a picture, or whatever. Throw the ideas out there, if I like yours, Cameos may occur.
So yeah, get to THINKING!

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
First things first; are you wanting something similar to a current outfit or have it be pretty different to the rest of the people around them?
James would have a bit harder of a time with a different getup because he's in the military still, in my opinion. If you want a OotS style Touhou avatar, send me a request.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
It dosn't have to be similar to a current outfit, but it should fit the setting. That is, no levitating shoulder pads or full plate armor or cyborg bits or anything. It should definitely be recognizable though, also, decently practical.
Yes James is in Uniform, but I have a feeling Foxhound division will start modifying their uniforms before long. I'd lie his new costume to have the same general feel of the uniform, but still be distinctive.
The vagueness is intentional here.
