Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
Response to the Hegemony (Public):
Mercenary, yes. We were most certainly paid for fighting you. And looked at a certain way, we did break a treaty with you. But considering that you had completely forgotten its existence until we stumbled on it in a half-forgotten section of our archives and reminded you, by which point we were already considering joining the other side, and that you did nothing at all about the attempted invasion of us by Cobra and a group of nearby warlords almost a year ago, directly after the treaty was signed, it was clear that you had no intention of upholding your side of it, which made us consider it void, and thus good only for a potential opening.
As for greed, hardly. Other than the treaty you'd already broken, you offered us nothing but your own research on psionics - which we should have gotten anyway, as per another agreement with you, which you seem to have had a convenient lapse of memory regarding - in exchange for our aid. The UK actually paid us. Wanting to get something other than assurances already proven empty in exchange for risking our people's lives is not greed.
To your charge of amorality, we say that you should learn not to make accusations that apply better to yourself. Your Hegemony is precisely that - your hegemony; your own personal power over your nation. In theory, everyone - except the apparently 'small', but never defined, slave caste; the descendants of criminals, troublesome political rivals, and other such unfortunates in addition to those who have actually done anything wrong - has some small amount of stock in the company. But you have the most, or you and the rest in power do, when taken together. Your people have just enough of an illusion of choice to be distracted by bread and circuses for a while. Especially since those who aren't end up getting their voting rights taken away - or being shot.
Finally, you call us cowards. Our forces were surrounded by your own troops, the Utopians, and the Grim, all of which had more people than we did. Yet, despite that, we attacked. And considering we won, I'd say it's more likely your own people are cowards, as had there been any true resistance, we couldn't have stood up to the sheer number of people shooting at us.
To Project Earth (PM):
Spoiler"The maze should work," Karissa replies, frowning at the concern in the general's voice, and setting off towards an odd-looking vehicle nearby.
To The Grim:
SpoilerSoon. We've got some stuff in the works related to that that we're waiting to finish up.
And our apologies if any of your stuff got trashed in the crossfire, but the UK made us a much better offer than the Hegemony, as noted in our earlier broadcast.
Karissa Hunter, Head of Psionics
To Station 9:
SpoilerSo far as we've been informed, the plan is to stay out of your way if you stay out of ours. We have nothing to gain by damaging your launch loop, after all.

Hypereux: Station 9
To UON
Spoiler
Thus far the breakdown of the Amurian order is as follows:
Hypereux: 5 ECO
Technorapture: 5 ECO
UHI: 5 ECO
We need five more to complete the transaction. If the Lunar Empire or Varunas don't step in, we may have to fill up the deficit ourselves. Due to prior obligations, Station 9 won't be able to give much more than 5, but we could conceivably add another [+] ECO.
To TELEPATH (ESP-D 3)
Spoiler
We are glad to hear that. You will understand if we don't take your word for it, however. Do not be surprised if you detect Hypereux observation satellites passing overhead. With the situation in the Hegemony being as volatile as it currently is, we like to keep an eye on things.
That said, as long as your operations in the region do not target the launch loop or S9S personnel, we will not interfere in any way. A word of warning, though; due to the size of the launch loop, any movement further into Quebec must unfortunately be treated as an attack on the facility. The British skirmish with our security forces six months ago was mostly caused by a misunderstanding as to the size of the installation, and we would hate for you to make the same mistake.

Carthage - Iran [+++++]
SpoilerUnless I am mistaken, I was under the impression that Iran and Carthage would be working together to aid China against Turkestan this season (turn). Your message seems to suggest that we'll wait until later, after the warlords are dealt with. Is there reason why we cannot aid China this turn? The Carthaginian Empire will still have ++ MIL in addition to whatever has been freed up for Iran now that the Arabian Warlords have been dealt with. With our forces helping China, we will be able to crush Turkestan within the year.
Mistral [GM PM]
SpoilerWorking on my EOT now. Do I need to fluff the co-option takeover of the warlords or do I just say "we'll attempt the takeover". I know in the situation with the Arabian warlords where I'm contributing outside MIL I will need to say how my MIL works with the co-opted MIL to take full control of the faction/region combined with our complete control over their remaining economic resources. Should I do that for both?

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
The North American Hegemony
"While it seems that TELEPATH will fit in well among its new allies due to its willingness to blame Hegemony for a lack of action in events where we were given no time to react, the simple fact that they were willing to exploit an international treaty as cover for an invasion speaks volumes about their lack of morals and their sociopathic international maneuvering. While the Hegemony may have suffered from a recent breakdown in communications between our citizenry and our government, we can at least hold our heads high when in the presence of TELEPATH, for even at our worst we are not governed by turncloaks and traitors."
To the PSA (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
The Hegemony would like to extend our apologies for the turmoil your support of us has caused among your people. While we realize this war has been a terrible one, your support of sovereignty and the attempts of a government to respond to their peoples' needs marks you as a nation of honor and reason. While our initial reaction to the invasion was to turn our resources to the repulsion of Cuba, rest assured that we intend to turn the bulk of our economic resources to meeting the demands of our citizens. And while Britain may possess a cunning tongue, we hope you recognize their imperial ambitions in this matter - they have threatened to invade Utopia for their support of us, and it is clear that if the Hegemony falls it will simply be the first of many states subsumed by European empires desperate for former glories. Indeed, it would not surprise us if British agitators were behind the protests in your cities. Only by standing firm against their forces can we reclaim our destiny.
To the FRA (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
While the Hegemony commends your brave defense of your homeland, we must ask you for a final time to please stop this madness and withdraw your forces. Gaul has deserted this conflict, and Britain's intent to conquer as much of North America as it can has been made clear by their threats to Utopia. We realize you joined this conflict in order to bring freedom to what you see as an oppressed people, but we implore you to see the truth - by tying yourself to this European invasion, you subject yourself to their whims should they triumph. If the Hegemony falls, another manufactured crisis will follow, and then another, as these powers reclaim their lost empires under the guise of humanitarian aid. Russia's attempt to claim dominion over North Africa, New Rome's nuclear strike on Luna, Britain's agitation of our people to revolt - all point to a pervasive drive in these European nations to subvert and devour the powers of the new world for their own remorseless greed. Please, do not give in to their false promises, and end this pointless war between brothers.
To The PSA and Utiopia [PM]
Spoiler
PM
Spoiler
We have attempted to bring the CSA into this war on our side, but they have rebuffed our advances. However, they seem to hold the PSA in high regard, so if you were to join your voice to ours we might convince our reticent neighbor to join our struggle. On a similar note, we have extended the olive branch to the FRA one final time. Please, appeal to them in whatever way you can - their involvement in this war only distracts from our true enemy.
To Commonwealth of Australia (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
Good evening. While the Hegemony realizes that your alliance with the Grim has yet to bring you into open conflict with Britain, we must plead for you intercession in this war. Britain's threats against Utopia have made clear their intent to conquer any nation that stands against them, and the Grim have antagonized them beyond any other nation. How long after the Hegemony fell would there be another "emergency" requiring Britain's intercession in the Grim's territory? And how would the Grim repel an attack on their settlement at Innsmouth if Britain controls what was once the Hegemony? If this European coalition triumphs here, before long they will seek out other wayward colonies to bring back into their fold - it will never end. Please, for the sake of future generations, ally with us against these resurgent empires, and prevent them from once again forcing the world to bend to their whims.
To Empire of Japan (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
Greetings to his Imperial Majesty from the Hegemony. We realize that the conflicts on our shores must seem of little concern, but we must nevertheless request your aid. As the European powers move to reestablish their intercontinental dominions, it seems only a matter of time before they turn their eyes to Asia to slake their thirst for conquest. In the interest of all free peoples, we must stand against these invaders and teach them that Europe's time is past. For decades, our forefathers worked to advance the cause of mankind's destiny - we ask that you join us in safeguarding that destiny now.
To Hypereux League (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
While we continue to respect your decision to remain neutral in this conflict, we must express concern for the long term safety of the Launch Loop. Britain has stated its intention to invade Utopia should the Hegemony fall, placing our shared territory directly in the path of their armies. Even if this second invasion were to bypass the Loop, it seems unlikely that Britain's extra-terrestrial ambitions would stand for the Loop's operation when they control the territory surrounding it. For that reason, and to ensure the prevention of a renewed European dominion over the entire world, we ask that you reconsider your neutral stance and join us in crushing the European forces stationed in Newfoundland.

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
Soviet Directorate
The Ulyanovsk roared her fury out across Boston, as the fighting began to fade. The Rear Admiral, since promoted to Admiral in light of recent violence and the loss of several command ships, found himself idly chewing on the nub of a cigar as he stared at the various display screens across the aircraft carrier's bridge. Holograms lit up and fell dark in rapid succession, several monitors showing current troop movements and various situation reports as they came in. Orders on all levels were filtered and organized.
The missile ports along the supercarrier's side were almost permanently in the firing position, the reinforced caps having retracted inside of the ship's battered hull as missile after missile streaked out and into the night sky. Aircraft came and go with constant regularity, marine landing parties and teams of special forces and intelligence operatives being dispatched from the mainland. Out in the bay itself, near the landing craft, furious fighting was taking place. The Directorate military was a machine that specialized in heavy, powerful blows when needed that were delivered with lightning strikes. In a grueling, continuous war such as this, their small numbers of elite infantry and high-tech armor found themselves in grueling trench warfare.
"Send Anvil Squadron to reinforce the spearhead along West City Avenue- a leaflet bombing should be enough to dislodge the infantry they have bogging down the primary and secondary convoys." He rolled the cigar about in his mouth, "How long, tactical?"
A young ensign, one of the more promising stars from Moscow's universities, hurriedly tapped away at his screen, bringing up panel after panel. The image of the local airspace shifted, the central hologram projector instead shifting to show an orbital view. Several dozen satellites could be seen changing formation, aligning in various attack patterns, solar panels unfurling as focusing rings aimed down at the world below.
"Hammer grid is online... now!" He announced, giving a few hurried keystrokes, "Communications, green. Energy readings are within acceptable boundaries, but below desired levels. Kinetic platforms remain active. Heat sinks are functional. Ready to initiate fire support linkup with forward operating bases on your command, Admiral."
Uri smiled, a rather nasty gesture, "Communications-- What of the enemy chatter? Do they suspect what we have?"
A young woman, her hair short-trimmed and her eyes rather baggy from long hours sustained mainly by coffee, spoke up, "No, sir. They're acting according to plan."
Uri folded his legs, leaning back in his chair, "Fire all platforms according to designated targets. Deploy gunships for extraction. Keep satellite fire focused on heavy artillery and armor assets, with secondary targets being enemy infantry concentrations and garrisoned buildings."
And soon, as the Peacekeeper forces moved to regroup, fire rained down from the heavens, covering their retreat in a curtain of blinding fire and the roar of thunder.
Bengal
Spoiler"Well, if you desire, this war in the Americas should soon be over with. We could certainly see to providing a large number of Espionage divisions if you desire, for the purpose of undermining the effectiveness of the Indian warlords, perhaps even setting a few upon one another. If you have a wish to incorporate some of our assets as liaisons into your own program, by all means, ask."
Project Earth
The Directorate transmission, from one of the chief science officers of the organic sciences, would be rather straightforward, "We, too, would be interested in buying this technology. We have several potential applications for it that may prove useful- if you are willing, perhaps we could cooperate on developing additional technologies to help further the progress of mankind?"

With the completion of a couple of our programs, and the expectation to increase our research capabilities with the profits from the HeartSeed, we should be able to focus on new programs in the near future. We would be interested in hearing what ideas the Soviet Directorate have.
Update to world powers
-Due to a massive contribution by the Lunar Empire, the Space Transit Program is near completion. All research is done. Project Earth will beging building it the network of launch sites and vehicles immediately.
-We will put a few resources to look into the situation of rising sea levels that the Amurian Technocracy has asked Project Earth to help solve. We will try to discover the viability of such a program, the best methods to acheiving success, and finding out the resources needed to complete it.
-World Peace Mission agents will be monitoring and researching the four major wars in the world to better understand the situation, and to arm the WPM with a better knowledge on how to strive for peace in these times. As always, the WPM is on contract for powers that are searching for peaceful solutions, but will not impede upon the wishes of sovereign powers.

We will continue to stand alongside you, for as long as we can, but the severe nature of the losses in Boston have greatly crippled domestic support for the war, and the public has begun to balk at supporting your government. Without a major victory, we're worried that we may not be able to turn the tide of domestic discontent.

Empire of Japan to North American Hegemony
Spoiler"An interesting proposal, but what would we gain in practical terms? There has been no interest from them in any meaningful diplomatic exchange, hostile or otherwise, and we have our own friends and interests domestically that could protect us on the off chance that they do proceed to attack us rather than, say, certain other choice targets to which they could apply their PR machine."

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
The United Kingdom
There's been some confusion around as to the origins and methods of the current war, confusion sown on purpose by our enemy.
While the pirate attacks were confirmed to have been the Hegemony's doing by an investigation led by Project Earth, this is not the cause of the British attack. It might be the cause of the Cuban attack, but we do not speak for Cuba. Britain only asked for compensation to all the nations harmed by the pirates, and Hegemony refused this.
However, when the people of the Hegemony heard of the actions of their government, paying and supplying pirates that brutally murdered all of their captives, the social tensions long apparent in their society broke out into rioting.
There is no evidence that anything has been done to address the concerns of the citizenry of the Hegemony, despite words to the contrary. Hegemony government claims to not have had the time to respond to these events - the social tensions have been growing for over a decade now. If you did not notice the discontent of your people before the bottles started flying, then you do not deserve to govern. The whole purpose of votes and political freedoms is to allow a system to change without forcing the people to resort to violence.
After the riots began, the Hegemony started brutally suppressing them with police and military forces resulting in several civilian casualties. The people of Hegemony begged for international support, at which point Britain pledged a number of our forces for the task. A significant number, sure, but nothing close to a real army.
In liberated and pacified Newfoundland, a vote was held as to what the people wish to do now. Among the choices were, for example, being a part of the new Hegemony with a free, democratic government, and joining Britain. They chose the latter one, and if anyone wishes to inspect the vote after the war or even call for a new one, they can feel free to do so. Britain is in America not to attack or invade, but to protect the true Hegemony, the people that live in the area, from a brutal attack by their own government that they should have been able to trust.
UK to Kalmarliga
Spoiler
I hope our old agreement about mutual defense in the case of Gaul or Soviet aggression still stands, and that you remember the friendship between our people. You might remember our private discussions about the problems in finding trustworthy friends what with the rising tide of communism in the world. Do remember that more important than a war of arms is the war of words and ideas, and if us, the free nations of the world, show ourselves willing to trample the rights of our people or fight for oppressive regimes, then every ordinary citizen all over the world will regard alternate options as the better ones and trust the honeyed words of communist leaders over the harsh truth from our lips.
UK to FRA
Spoiler
Assistance is coming. If we can grind the PSA advance down, their internal pressure will force them to end the war.
UK to CSA
Spoiler
Perhaps you would be willing to support our forces in Hegemony in bringing this war to a swift conclusion? We outnumber the enemy by a lot and have the strategic initiative, but they have enough troops to make it a long and bloody affair, one that will hurt the people of Hegemony and make the land harder to rebuild, unless we can strike a decisive blow at their forces.
Peace and freedom in North America is what your people deserve.
UK to New Zealand
Spoiler
As an old friend, cricket adversary and most importantly a liberal democracy perhaps you would be willing to help our cause. The propaganda spewed by Hegemony is already muddying the waters on the real issue - the addition of a force of peacekeepers from New Zealand securing and pacifying liberated regions would go a long way into showing the world that it is an international operation to stop slavery, crimes against humanity and brutal oppression, not some sort of an imperialistic invasion.
UK to Indochinese Alliance
Spoiler
As a fellow democratic government, perhaps you would agree to helping us clear the waters that our enemy is attempting to muddy about the issue itself.
A group of peacekeepers from you, helping protect the civilians in Hegemony and secure liberated areas would go a long way towards showing everyone that the war is an international operation to stop slavery, crimes against humanity and brutal oppression instead of some sort of an imperialistic invasion.
UK to Japan
Spoiler
You were long a friend of freedom and democracy. Even now, your government adheres to the sacred principles of human rights and liberties. We wish you would help us in our fight in Hegemony, sending a token force of peacekeepers to help protect the civilians. It is the responsibility of sovereign nations to work internationally to prevent abuses of human rights, slavery and brutal oppression wherever it may occur.

Spoiler"We do understand, but the Soviet support to your cause is quite suspicious, as was the involvement of Cuban instigators in the original riots that sparked this intervention. As well, our military treaty only covers acts by Gaul and the Soviets, not any American states, and was intended as defensive. Why do you support the Soviets and Cubans, even indirectly?"

CSA to UK
Spoiler"We are willing, provided we pursue this war to its complete conclusion."
New Zealand to UK
Spoiler"We would be willing, but our military is quite small, and unfortunately, would not suffice to permit any such action."
Indochinese Alliance to UK
Spoiler"Unfortunately, we have many concerns closer to home, particularly the Malay state and Shan warlords. Unfortunately, we cannot send sufficient military forces halfway across the world to aid you at this time. To be honest, we are unsure that Britain is entirely blameless in this matter, either."
Japan to UK
Spoiler"Perhaps we would be willing to support you, but the Hegemony has dealt fairly with us in the past, and there isn't that much evidence that this unrest isn't just the rabble-rousing of foreign agents paired with a military intervention with suspiciously convenient timing. More practically, however, this wouldn't stand in the way of any intervention on our part. What would we get in exchange for our support?"

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
UK to Kalmar League (PM)
Spoiler
((Personal messaging through the embassy))
Well, frankly, the situation in the Hegemony, especially in Canada, was appalling. As you've noticed in Newfoundland, we imagine it will be easy to remind many of them of their old British heritage and get the civilians to join us. Cuba is in it for the revenge against the pirates, and they do not intend to take any land, so their invasion serves as a bogeyman to make the people of the Hegemony ask for international assistance.
The Soviets are part of the International Task Force, and joined without us even asking them to. They are supporting their Cuban brethren in spreading communist ideology, aiming to gain another useful ally in America.
So, we're trying to get the people to vote for liberal democrats or simply outright join Britain while Cubans and Soviets are trying to get them to vote communists into power - this is a war of the minds as well as arms. The British forces have liberated more territory and have 'bailed out' the Soviets and the Cubans from Boston, and the Cuban forces fought with the ITF troops, so currently we are more credible as saviours and liberators than the communists.
But the fact is, the situation in Hegemony had to change, and will change eventually - this is both justice, revenge for the piracy and, also important, a way for us to control the change that's taking place in the Hegemony towards a direction useful to us, one of an anti-communist agenda. If we left, the people would revolt on their own sooner or later and the Cubans would support them heavily, and we'd end up with a communist Hegemony. With your help in the matter, your words in the minds of Hegemony and your boots on the ground of Hegemony, we can avert this and gain in the process.
UK to Japan
Spoiler
Well, what is it that you would most want. Britain is one of the strongest economies on the planet, and we're also proficient scientifically, specifically on matters concerning space. If there's a project you wish to pursue, we can help you with it. And once Hegemony loses their government, the people will be thankful of anyone who helped them, which can help trade. Then there's the fact that if Utopia does not leave the war we will probably have to force them to do so by moving forces into their nation - and who knows what the troops of the victors carry away with them? Nobody's going to count those afterwards.
UK to CSA
Spoiler
Indeed. The aim of our troops is to dismantle the government of the Hegemony completely, and then have the civilians decide themselves, in a series of votes, on what they wish to do - join nearby nations or form a new Hegemony on better principles, those of democracy. They will, of course, be favourable to those who helped them. In addition, if Utopia refuses to withdraw, we might have to send troops through their land to force them to relent.
UK separately to both Indochinese Alliance and New Zealand
Spoiler
Our manpower is strong enough to win this war on the ground, extra troops would just make it faster and help the people of the nation by avoiding undue destruction and bloodshed. However, what I am asking for is not really combat strength - I wish for peacekeepers, small groups of what would amount to more heavily armed policemen who would patrol behind the frontlines in liberated areas and make sure any looting is stopped and any weapons the civilians have are gathered. If you can't send a real unit, even a volunteer token force would be enough for the PR impact and any boots on the ground help lessen the suffering the civilians have to endure.

The Cubans as far as we can tell are in retreat. We hope that they would continue to stay in retreat and just leave this war altogether but that is a risky assumption. The FRA is fortifying Chicago and is unlikely to move at this time.
However we could unite our forces and launch a major push against Britain or Russia who seem to be the face of our opposition. Particularly we would like to hit Britian who has been the most aggressive. Though Russia would work as well.
Now do we know what numbers are present among the British and Russian forces and how much help did TELEPATH bring in? Also does anyone have any strategies they would like to present? As always since this is your homeland the American Hegemony has overall command.
To Cobra
SpoilerAre you still committed to helping us and the American Hegemony?
If not would you do us a favor? Some unknown group attempted to unleash some sort of bioweapon against my people. We don't know who or what it was supposed to do. Could you investigate for us?Spoiler: I'm a writer!Spoiler: Check out my fanfiction[URL="https://www.fanfiction.net/u/7493788/Forum-Explorer"here[/URL]

Amurian Technocracy Reguarding Rising Sea levels
''We agree with Grim. The rising sea levels are clearly just part of Earth's natural cycle. The only other explanation for it would be a cabal of mad scientists with evil fortresses in Antarctica and North Pole, working on a plan to melt the polar ice caps to conquer the world. Well, such organization is too ridiculous to exist outside of children's cartoons and popular ficition, so clearly we are dealing with natural phenomenon.''
''And Varunas are making a good observation. We hope, that Project Earth would approach this problem seeking a technological solution, rather than the futile and wasteful control over greenhouse emissions.''I saw humans get on fine without power for millennia. You used to hunt and gather, what happened to that?

Reply to Amurian Technocracy Reguarding Rising Sea levels
One, we don't have any bases in the north polar region. Secondly, we're suprised that the alpine glaciers have lasted as long as they have. By the estimites, they should have gone in 2050. And, if you looked at the fossil record, the planet does have Ice ages, and what most people don't realizde is that the ice age of 10,000 years ago? It hasn't ended yet. And our last point is one that you will either ingnore or attack us for making. There are somethings that Technology can't solve without creating a even bigger problem.
Also, about conquering the world, where the point in that? If you set your self up in charge you'll become a paranoid freak who suffers crushing insecurity and can't sleep due to fear. Besides, if we conquered the joint, when the hell would we get any real work done?

Carthage - Iran, China, Amurian Technocracy [PM-Level]
SpoilerThank you, Iran. Carthage will be wrapping up matters in the Arabian peninsula and in a few months we should be able to devote more resources to the fighting if need be. For now, Iran and I will be moving our troops through Iran to take position in Carthage's holdings in the mountains. From there, we will make a simultaneous push into Turkestan as China deals with the other front.
If any of this is incorrect or there are other suggestions, please speak up so that we can make the appropriate adjustments. If not, we hope to see you in the capitol.
Arabian Warlords
Spoiler(Friendly ones)
Carthage will be moving a large portion of our troops to assist you in taking full control of what remains of the warlord holdings. (Read: We're helping them successfully take complete control of the faction in the name of Carthage.) Approximately +++++ of our military will be working in coordination with your own forces.
Indian Warlords
Spoiler(Friendly ones)
Friends, I think we have enough support to finally make a move for full control of central India. From our estimates, it should not be difficult for you to obtain full control in a few short months. Let us know if there is anything you need.Total War Stats:

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
The North American Hegemony
"The Hegemony would be very interested in seeing Britain produce proof that any of our citizens perished before their invasion. The only casualties we have on record are Cuban and British citizens in the Hegemony under false identities found agitating riots. An odd discrepancy, to be sure, but we have no doubt there is a reasonable explanation. Similarly, we're sure there is a reasonable explanation for how a nation that had maintained a decades long policy of isolationism was able to mobilize an international military response to the unrest in the Hegemony before the authorities of the Hegemony itself. One might almost think Britain agitated these riots in preparation for an unprovoked invasion of our territory."
To the Empire of Japan (D-ESP 6)
Spoiler
In the short term, any allies of ours would of course be included in the negotiation for reparations. However, we are sure Britain has offered you something similar, so the real question is what more can we guarantee. Aside from our history, we would suggest that maintaining the Hegemony is within your Empire's national interest. Should we repulse Britain and Russia, their ability to project their influence will be greatly reduces, allowing you increased room to maneuver within your sphere of influence. Beyond that, though, we have only to look to history to realize why Britain's triumph would be disastrous. Their vote in Newfoundland while their troops were stationed there points to a clear intent to integrate large portions of the Hegemony through similar "votes," and as in Germnay two centuries ago they will eventually find themselves unable to devour territory through false democracy. That is the moment you should be wary of, for when they desire a territory they cannot take by guile, they will take it by force. The coalition has already allied itself with your regional competitors, and we doubt the resurgent Soviets would turn down an opportunity to wipe the stain of the Russo-Japanese war from their memory.

Amurian Technocracy to Indochina [++++]
Spoiler
''We have heard rumors about your negotiations with UK. We hope you aren't planning to withdraw the troops from the offensive against the Shan. We have negotiated with Bengal and prepared our own forces for this. We can of course call off the offensive, but we aren't certain, when we will be able to organize another such operation again.''

Amurian Technocracy to Japan [++++]
Spoiler
''We have heard rumours the UK are seeking bodies for their war in North America. This makes their claims, that the war is practically over a bit of a suspect. We have no doubt they contacted you as well, promising spoils of war. Those spoils of course would be shared among all nations of Coalition, and those who were there first and contributed the most, would want the largest share of the pie.
And of course Hegemony can offer even less, so we won't even argue against their plea for aid, if they made such.
Well, Amurian Technocracy will stay out of North American conflict and we advise you the same.''
Secret Negotiations

''We are however greatly concerned by the actions of the T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H. They have show themselves to be treacherous and mercenary in nature. This time they got paid to fight Hegemony. Next time the highest bidder may direct them against us. We perceive them as a threat to the long-term stability to the region. You have noticed how they failed to initiate any contacts with any of nations in the region. We have a saying - ''in the quiet pond, the devil dwells.''
''Meanwhile, we have received information, that they may get attacked by Malay with their troops being away in North America. You have prospered so far by staying on the forefront of technological advancement. The T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H. has extremely advanced technology at their disposal. We believe we can convince the other powers in Asia, that an action against them would be justified. [6 REP to support Japan's military action against T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H.] and we are prepared to support your reverse-engineering of any technology you may acquire [2.5 TEC support].''

SpoilerAbout the zombie bioweapon we've been hearing rumors about, that one wasn't us. Because it was supposed to create viral zombies, correct? We do know not to do things that would get us carpet bombed. Mostly a "more trouble then it's worth" deal for us. Besides, after the black death incident, we've decided that using wide spread viruses are not a good idea. However, with your permission, we could work on a few things that annoy the hell out of them. And by "Annoy" I mean maim or seriously injure.

Re: Total War: 2126 (IC)
Kalmar Union to United Kingdom (PM)
Spoiler"Unfortunately, your actions may have precipitated the very chaos that we had hoped to avoid. Conflict and internal warfare only serve to further radicalization, and will never lead to its reduction; nation-building through military force is incompatible with true democracy. Involvement in the war at this point will only provide tacit support to the Soviets and Cubans, which we cannot do. The most we can promise is non-interference."
Japan to United Kingdom
Spoiler"A chance at the spoils, but no guarantees. Still, that may be acceptable, particularly given the People's States and Utopia Project. We will have to discuss the situation internally, but we will make a determination before the close of the year. Besides, as you say, these nations may back out of the war, which would leave us out in the cold."
CSA to United Kingdom
Spoiler"Then our forces are in motion, and will cross the border. Godspeed to you."
Indochinese Alliance to United Kingdom
Spoiler"Nonetheless, we must decline. We see no reason to extend aid, and will not involve ourselves in affairs half a world away when we have our own issues closer to home."
New Zealand to United Kingdom
Spoiler"Unfortunately, our military truly is quite small; a token force would still be quite significant, from our perspective."
PSA to NorthAm Allies (PM)
Spoiler"Our report on the combined forces in the Boston break-out include 10 MIL between the combined International Task Force of Gaul, Rome, and the Soviets under siege within, a further 2 MIL from the United Kingdom, and 2.5 MIL from T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H. Gallic forces were also reported to have split from their allies, which improves our situation, but only marginally.
"We likewise will continue to follow the strategic lead of the Hegemony in this war."
Japan to North American Hegemony
Spoiler"So, in other words, you offer little that is concrete, then. It seems to us that, win or lose, you will likely do your best to bleed them white in either case. The Soviets aren't much in the way of competition in the region; the loss of the Transamur region hurt them, and the Amurian Technocracy is considered a partner.
"That said, however, there is some truth to what you say. We will have to consider the situation carefully. We will have a final reply before the close of the year."
Kalmar Union to North American Hegemony
Spoiler"We regret to inform you that volunteer regiments will no longer be forthcoming."
Japan to Amurian Technocracy
Spoiler"Indeed, we have been contacted by both sides of the conflict. To be honest, they have both been less than generous. We have promised to adopt a wait-and-see attitude for now, and given T.E.L.E.P.A.T.H.'s involvement in that nation, we will have to adopt the same there."
OOC: There are still no mid-turn actions, so no spending REP on getting nations to do what you want halfway through a turn. I think I've mentioned it once or twice.
Indochinese Alliance to Amurian Technocracy
Spoiler"That is correct, and we have informed them that we will not be embarking on foreign adventures halfway around the world when we have our own situation to take care of. We have no intention of following the British into their American quagmire."

((OOC: I'm pretty sure there are always civilian casualties (casualty meaning injured or killed) in massive riots where cities burn. If miraculously not, then I suppose it was just a speech.))
"False identities? I would have you know that the British citizens you murdered were openly British and never tried to hide their identities in any way. To our knowledge, it isn't against the law to speak against the government in any fair, free, democratic nation. Of course this is different in the Hegemony, but that's pretty much why we're trying to change things."
UK to Japan
Spoiler
Do not forget our promise of assistance with any project you require help with. We have both Tech and Econ free - we'd wish some share in what we help build but we can negotiate that in detail based on the project.
UK to Kalmarliga

((OOC: Changing national 'identity' is bad for me, because I tailor my offers based on that... Marx didn't really care about radicalism, they're fascists after all. :P))
That is good. We thank you, and will continue to stand behind you fully in any conflict involving Europe.
UK to NZ/Indochinese Alliance
Spoiler
All right then. We don't begrudge you your decision - it is one that every nation must face from time to time, and I believe you are doing right by your nations. I hope we can still work together on other matters in the future.
((By token force, I meant something like 0,5 to 1 point of Morale, not any Military. Even if they send no stats, just a public announcement that there are people from these nations would help.))
