Re: Guides, Tables, and other useful tools for 5E D&D
Good news guys, I found that some of the WotC forums guides were also posted on the En World forums too, so you don't need to remove all the dead links, just replace the web direction.
Here are the ones that I have found:
The Gentleman's Guide to Proper Barbarism
Graceful Destruction: A Guide to the Dex Based Barbarian
For God and Party: A Cleric's Guide
Celestial Link Evoking Radiance into Creation
Bow Bond: An Eldritch Knight's Guide to Archery
Know Your Enemy: A Fighter's Handbook
Animal Buddy: A Guide to the Ranger's Beast Companion
The Outdoorsman's Guide to Natural Ranging
Into the Woods We Go: The Ranger Guide
A Knife in the Dark: The Rogue's Handbook
Dealing Death: Handbook of the True Assassin
Power Overwhelming: A Sorcerer Guide
Guide for the Optimized Sorcerer
Playing Dice with the Universe: A Slant Guide to Wild-Magic Sorcerer
Blade, Book, and Chain: A Warlock Guide
Arrive on Time: A General Guide to Wizardry

Speaking of which, are there any other topics that are obviously missing from this list which we could write guides for?

I found the reddit link to Guides to Homebrewing by JamesMusicus.
I'll try to find some time to search for some of the others that have been lost.

Re: Guides, Tables, and other useful tools for 5E D&D
Thank you guys, especially Dericof. The class section at least is starting to look like it used to.
Just in case you wonder why I'm not posting this one, it was on the list before but Dire-Stirge requested that the link be removed when he decided to put the unfinished guide on indefinite hiatus. This would be a good time for him to change his mind and finish it, but until then I will respect his wishes.
One thing I've felt was missing is a general newbie crash course, especially in regards to getting a new character down on actual paper. Don't get me wrong, the PHB is better than most I've seen in this regard, but it does contain a lot of abstract information and makes the user flip back and forth looking for different sections a lot.
Another might be a listing of the more common rules clarifications we've had come up. For instance, lots of people (myself included) missed the multiclass rule section that turned having a little bit of most kinds of spellcaster from the best mage possible into a horrible idea.Last edited by Daishain; 2015-11-10 at 10:18 AM.

Re: Guides, Tables, and other useful tools for 5E D&D
You're welcome. I would have post it earlier but I didn't have the level yet.
I could use something like that. My character died in the last session and now I'm struggling to create a new one, specially with the limited options I have at this point of the campaign (I can only select 1 of 3 specific races) and my ignorance of the classes.

Re: Guides, Tables, and other useful tools for 5E D&D
I could probably write something like that. Not sure whether I'd be the best judge of relative power/optimization, but I could definitely do a solid walkthrough of character creation. I hope so, at least...it's my job! (I work at a FLGS, teaching kids how to play D&D)
Isn't that basically just the Sage Advice?

It's really a GM resource, but I made Random Weapons Tables. They can be found here:

(I'd include the whole link, but I don't have a large enough post count.)

edit: Was asking about making this thread sticky. Now I see it is in the "notable" sticky. Might still be worth putting it as a top level one, it is going to keep getting a lot of use. Maybe a separate thread with just the guides?

If possible it would be nice if each guide was noted with what source books it includes, much the way say Pathfinder or 3.5 guides were/are. It will become fairly quickly relevant whether something includes only the Players Handbook, or has the DMG, or SCAG, or UA. As such a date of most recent update would probably be most relevant or some way of showing what it in includes.

Re: Guides, Tables, and other useful tools for 5E D&D
There's a redundant link to the Wizards board for the "Skill Monkey" thread.
Some links to reposted guides should be updated to point to versions that have colour coding and/or are maintained by the original posters. Examples:
http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthr...-Paladin-Guide
The "Oathbreaker" paladin guide, reposted by the author.
http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthr...A-Monk-s-Guide
The "Meditation" monk guide, reposted by the author.
http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthr...Druid-Handbook
The "Powers Combined" druid guide, reposted by the author.Ur-member and coffee caterer of the fan club.
I wish people would stop using phrases such as "in my humble opinion", "just my two cents", and "we're out of coffee".
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for they are out drinking coffee and, like, whatever.
