Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I will abstain.
I have nothing for it or against it. I'm confused and the rapid posts aren't helping. I finish with one and there are three more. I leave for several hours and there are three pages. I'll just sit back and let you guys fight it out and let me know what the decision is.
On a different note, I've always wondered how you make those tables on this website.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Okay, how the devil did Levistus manage to "shield" Lying from the very fabric of reality being rewoven? Even if we accept that Plot snuck FFF's Levistus into the pattern, FFF:R is still a separate reality to FFF, as I understand it the Plot Gods started from scratch.
So if Maeter, whoever that is, wasn't in the recreated FFF:R, then she was never in FFF:R. Even if Levi has memories of her.
Whether Lyinginbedmon's introduction comics are canon or not.
EDIT: I missed this the first time round. Dang edits.
I've been continuing to update mine. Should I get a post above you on a new page, I'm like to repost it and start updating that one, partly because I don't trust anyone else to keep a fair count (so feel free to keep updating your own, particularly if you don't trust me to keep a fair count ), and partly because I like doing so. Gives me something to do, and I can play around with table formatting.
Also, I'm a dude. Gender icon's set to male and everything.Last edited by Keris; 2009-11-28 at 07:52 PM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Jesus, sorry. I keep missing that.
I only figured out how to do tables by quoting you and examining your code, so I think a bit of format messing would probably do me good, as well.
I trust you to do fair count, but I think I'll just keep doing mine anyways. Becuase I'm bored and this is fun for the math and logic-y part of my brain. (It also likes codes and crap.)
So you're answer is what, aye or nay?
(Aye means yes, let's make Lying's comic noncanon. Nay means no, let's keep Lying's comic part of the plot. Yeah, it's a bit confusing.)Last edited by EmeraldPhoenix; 2009-11-28 at 08:13 PM.

Many reasons, most of which are outlined in the last 4 pages. Here's a sample:

So what are we voting for? And while I'm here, has anything happened to Sorcerer Dude Strikes back, or has it stayed dead?

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I vote Aye.
Keep it out... its not related to Reboot, only to FFF
from what i gather Kippy wants FFF:R to be like what marvel zombies was to marvel... separate but similar.
However... if you wanted to do Remember: Reboot...I'm technically but I refuse to admit it!QuotesI'm an Artist!, If you want an Avatar just PM me your specifics - Avatar by Me!

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
When the universe rejects your reality, you substitute your own. Levistus generally considers himself borderline godlike for beating Asmodeus, so if he sees something very similar but otherwise bizarrely different in a universe where just about everything is bizarrely different, he's gonna come up with some self-promoting reason for it to be that way.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I propose we let lying finish his intro before rendering judgment.
For all we know, "King" could be entierly mistaken/talking nonsense. Lying is in fact a mattress salesman, and the Remember plot remains irrelevant for the rest of the comic.
That said, I'm considering entering FFF:R, I think I have a character (or two) In mind.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I shall answer you with a quote.
I'm fairly certain it stayed dead.
So, Levistus is just delusional, and Lying wasn't "shielded"? Lev's just assuming that he must have shielded him, because he's a familiar figure?
I'm rendering judgement against including Levistus in FFF:R at all. I don't think that's something that's likely to change in Lying's final intro comic.
Nope. MM's working on it though. Apparently.

Cool. So I don't have to worry about updating the SDSB archive. I still have to worry about making a FI character though.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Not going to try to read all of the lengthy arguments on the non-canonization, here, so I'm just going to make a few comments;
EDIT: Removed to avoid fanning any flames
One last thing; I'm changing Tales of Squark to be the backstory for FFF RB's Squark. Let's get one thing straight RIGHT NOW. You will not need to read TOS to understand my comics in FFFRB if you don't want to. Unlike On the Origins of the PC's, most elements of TOS will never come up, and any that do will get brief expositions so you know all (and then some) that you need. Since TOS is going to be fairly episodic, I don't picture many elements, besides perhaps Chrysalis, coming back. In case you're wondering why I did this, FFF:RB basically forcing me to reimagine Squark finally allowed me to shed a lot of dead weight in the backstory, like the Godhood and the evil twin stuff.
EDIT: Looks like you guys were starting to come to an agreement without me. I'm retracting my statements, so as to avoid fanning any smoldering flames.Last edited by Squark; 2009-11-28 at 09:22 PM.

I have an Idea, but I'm going to wait to see how Lying's intro goes before I bring it past the "Rough idea" stage.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
If you had any arguments as to why Lying's comics should be included, then please, post them. I'd be interested to read them, as I'm still firmly in the "Aye" camp, while you were the first to cast a "Nay".
But if you were just "fanning the flames", and weren't contributing anything constructive, then it probably is best you keep it to yourself.
I feel obliged to mention that several folks on the IRC have had "ideas" as well, so you may get cut off by them.Last edited by Keris; 2009-11-28 at 09:35 PM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Random musing for silly character idea with Art
Bernard Renolds Cartian. BRC to his associates.
Professional Narrative Facilitator. Deuses Ex Machina'd, Macguffins hidden, Plot Holes filled or Dug.
BRC Makes his living as a Narrative Facilitator, hired by various interested parties to ensure the continuation of, or derailment, of Stories. Primarily such Facilitators work for Plot (Usually ensuring things go as they are supposed to) or for Plotus (Making sure the story dosn't take a turn that shoehorns it into a given path. Disrupting plans, ect). They occasionally take private jobs though, things like ensuring that the swordmasters stumbles upon the recently-raided village in time to rescue the angry farmboy, not after said farmboy has bled to death.
They also clean up after embarrassing stories, do their best to correct things (Ret-con jobs), and tidy up leftovers from non-canon comics.
When he Enters, BRC is working for Plotus, who has identified Lying as being a high-risk individual with a history of epic backstories. BRC is hired to "Maintain Narrative Separation", by keeping an eye on Lying and ensuring bits of his backstory don't creep in past acceptable levels.
BRC is equipped with his communication headset, Specially treated glasses, a Briefcase of Holding, and his trusty Plot Device.
