Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
None of us have silly, it's the Internet.
To comment on your previous post I'd like to ask why a natively English speaker like you found the comic to troublesome to read when a Dane like myself found it incredibly easy?
@Bright: The references aren't important for the comic, the important part is that one of Igon's daughters doesn't exist in FFF:R but did in FFF and that's what Levistus is trying to use to win Lying over to his side.Treasured Quotes

Half of us are in UK and half are in US so it probably wouldn't be enough people at either one. Also there are quite a few of us who are under 16 so it would make it harder.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I actually do find the route Lying's going somewhat distasteful, but I dislike the way non-canonization usually works. It just leaves bad feelings everywhere, and frankly, we're getting too factionalized as it is.
I think I'm going to have to change my vote to abstain, on the grounds of personal bias against all non-canonization.
Now I realize the citadel incident was justified, but I still feel that the way non-canonization methods work need to be more, "What can we change to make everyone happy," and less, "I don't like the way your comic is. Let's make it non-canon." Which is how it kind of feels right now.
Also, I kind of feel that a lot of these debates are starting to devolve into personal conflicts, as people split into pro- and anti- [Insert Controversial Person here] camps.
For the record, this is (roughly) what I removed because I regarded it as too incendiary, but since the debate shows no signs of slowing down now, I might as well post it.Steam ID: The Great Squark

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
... Is that supposed to creep me out? Or make me think you are crazy? I'm not sure.
No I was not aware that such meetings are organised. And given that I have seen one, maybe two posters with any connection to Denmark whatsoever at most I believe it must be Holland. I was justing joking at the fact that having met has little to do with what he meant with the question.
The reasons I don't meet up with any of you are simple:
a) I do not know where exactly you live.
p) I'm not even sixteen yet.
o) I don't have time to take a vacation.
g) I prefer not to mix play and work.
s) Complications that might or might not involve evil robots and world dominationTreasured Quotes

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Geez, I fall asleep and when I wake up there are two more fragging pages!
Well, if you're against non-canonization, why not just vote Nay?
Hey, actually, I think we need to make a different catagory: for people who don't think we should go to the extreme of non-canonization, but do think the comic should have some changes. (As in, he's just insane.) Anybody like that compromise?Last edited by EmeraldPhoenix; 2009-11-29 at 11:20 AM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
That's what I was saying from the beginning with my "*conditions apply". I'm in favour of the change, as I don't want a Greyhawk cosmology rip-off.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Do you think that all the people who said "conditions apply" would count under the changes category?
Because then we would have... *counts* ...6 people, which is a pretty decent number.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I wouldn't mind changing a few lines here and there if it stops the arguing, heck altering a few sentences in the first part could resolve the whole cosmology issue theoretically.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Lesvistus's "realization" that the world has been "altered" should also probably be his own personal semi-delusion, since this is by definition a new world, so he'd be a new Lesvistus as well.

I think we're trying to come to a grand consensus here, so I felt that needed to be brought up to see if Lying had a problem with it.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
My votes changes to "changes", given that the changes meets the criteria I set up previously.
Including the Star Wars.
Why do you say such hurtful things, Q?
I'm pretty sure no one's called for the noncanonization of my comic as of yet other than Q. Other than that, I've already stated that my comic's canonicity is dependent on whether Lying's comic is canon or not.Last edited by kpenguin; 2009-11-29 at 02:43 PM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
Right now, the main issue is continuity. Not length or...whether we've met...this place is confusing...um....anyways, the issue is that Lying is introducing the idea that a petty prince of hell could possibly 'block' the power of Plotus and Plot, who are probably the most powerful beings in the Multiverse. Not to mention that he is trying to introduce a lot of his character's backstory, too. The main revealer is the Sovice. In this world they have ALWAYS been a soap brand, not anything to do with robots. Maeter has never existed, and the Sovice are soap.
If Lying tries to change any of this, then he has no real platform he has any right to get behind.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
I might even argue that they only have power over worlds they create, and that they don't have power over distant worlds like Toril or Ebberon.
Also, I think that in order to try to ease some of the tension going on lately, we should probably get some sort of non-ABR thing going. Maybe a pbp game, or something else. I'm open to ideas.Last edited by Squark; 2009-11-29 at 03:08 PM.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXIX: Where we talk about bears....
All universes must have plot, if not then nothing could happen -even if it was just random events the plot would be having them happen- and that would be mind-implodingly impossible. To my knowledge at least.
And this is the ABR multiverse we are speaking of, there's no non-fiction plots... If they know what's best for themTreasured Quotes

It might actually be cool if one of us was a GM with enough time and such to make a huge campaign for all ABRians, sort of like the Pathfinder Society.
