Re: Notebook Sketches
*peeks into thread*
As always, very good. Although, I have to ask... do you ever go over your drawings in ink, or do you just leave them in pencil?
EDIT::: I would also like to point out that I am the first person to reply to Vulion's latest drawing, and have brought page 25 into existance.
That is all.

Problem is, my pictures often have copious amounts of shading, or shading-like things, and I've never been able to shade in ink without it looking like arse.
I mean, how would you ink these?I am the golden shadow. I am the Ninja Chocobo

Re: Notebook Sketches
I usually don't ink my drawings, because I like the rough look my sketches have.

Still, I had a fun day.

Yeah, me and my friend went around as the cowboy's that sing the Bad Horse theme song from doctor evil's sing along blog. We sang the theme song at every house we stopped by.
It was awesome.

Re: Notebook Sketches
Man, every time you think 'could this stuff POSSIBLY get any cooler,' Vulion takes yet another level in Badass.
I'm looking for a sketch that was put up a little while ago and I can't seem to find it... It was a suit of armor that was really spiky and evil-looking with runes up and down parts of the legs. I know it was here somewhere...

He looks good, but doesn't look quite military enough.
Unless that was your intention, considering he's an "ex-military" cyborg?Quote Of TheWeekWhenever I Feel Like Updating It (last updated 1/17/12)SpoilerOriginally Posted by Phase

Re: Notebook Sketches
Well the reason I was looking for that sketch earlier is because I have a request to make.
This one takes a bit of esplanin', and I will try to do this as un-wall-of-text-y as I can. The idea is that there are three artifact weapons that have been made off with by unknowed persons and have caused a world war of mutual blame between the primary world powers who possessed them. Unlikely group of chosen ones is called upon to retrieve said artifact weapons, and along the way harnesses their powers to fight for all that is good. Or somesuch.
My character's artifact is to be the Tiger Eye Dagger. At this point the specifics of its abilities are undetermined, but it is offensively oriented, and presumably powerful enough that it would drive a nation to war over its loss. The idea in my mind at this point is that my character, for reasons that I would be happy to explain if you are actually at all interested, has very low self-esteem and doesn't believe himself to be strong enough to fulfill his calling as chosen one to save the world. The artifacts are quasi-empathic, reacting to their owners' emotions and intents, and so the former owner (the guy who stole it) unintentionally left behind a little of his 'evilness' latent in the weapon that my character will discover by accident. It makes him stronger, not so much by actually improving his abilities, but by making him more reckless, more self-confident, more abandoning of defense in order to solely pursue attack. After a little while he starts to draw on it intentionally, at which point it makes him literally stronger and not just mentally, and further after that he actually goes back to where the thief was defeated, and then starts adding darkness of his own into the weapin to bolster his strength as high as it will go in order to fulfill his purpose and save the world.
So the request is about the dagger itself. As he starts drawing more and more on darker emotions and abilities, he uncovers a second, and eventually third form of the weapon that nobody within recorded history was even aware existed. The standard form is just of a longdagger, about 17 or 18 inches long, and with the titular Tiger Eye set into the pommel. The second form is of almost the same dagger, but includes a full-arm gauntlet that runs all the way up to the shoulder. At this point, the dagger is connected to the gauntlet by two golden chains that attach from each side of his wrist to the crossguard and pommel of the dagger, respectively (these will extend indefinitely if he throws it, and allow him to pull it back and swing it around for awesome to the max). Also the Tiger Eye has migrated from the pommel of the dagger up to the shoulder on the gauntlet, as well as getting bigger. This form looks kinda spikey in its design, but doesn't yet look inherently evil-- the people around him are kinda shocked at seeing this, but aren't too unsettled. The third and final form (that he discovers anyway, there may be more) has the gauntlet stretching up into a mask that covers his face up to the nose and wrapping around his neck down to his collar bone while also turning the weapon itself into more of a shortsword than a dagger, making the blade longer and wider, having runes down the flat of the blade, and adding a more elaborate grip and hilt. By this time it's flatly obvious that the thing is evil, with the spikes getting more pronounced and the overall design just looking demonic.
Dangitt, blew the 'non-wall-of-text' deal, didn't I? I apologize, it's just that I can almost see this thing in my head and I want to communicate what I'm visualizing as best I can. Can you help me out, Vulion? This would really mean the world to me.

Well, I am not Vulion, but I sketched the above description really quickly for fun. Of course, it's vastly low quality sketch.

Re: Notebook Sketches
Phew, wow, this is gonna be a bit of a challenge.
I'll take it!
@Echowinds: Very nice.
EDIT:
Here is the preliminary design for the dagger. I just wanted to run it by you OverWilliam before I proceeded.

Re: Notebook Sketches
If you don't mind, can I use this thread to sometimes post my own stuff? I suppose there's an Arts and Craft showcase, but no one really comments there. It's really annoying. I post too little sketches to do my own thread either.
