WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Hello all.
This thread was designed by Lucky originally for the purposes of coordinating and maintaining all the werewolf games and variants. It has become a great tool for us. This is where you come to place a claim on running your own Werewolves or Werewolves variant game. It can also be used to develop ideas and gather interest for your own version of the game.
Whatever you're looking for in regards to werewolf games should be found on this page.
Maybe not in this post, but somewhere on this first page.
Everything from start dates to active games, rules (and optional rules) to games archives can be found here along with tools designed to make your game run smoother.
If there’s something useful you think is missing, mention it. We will immediately eventually spring lurch into action to sort it out.
--Playing--
--How Players Should Use This Thread--
Spoiler
Show
- If you need to check the basic rules, they are in this post.
- If you have a query about the general/basic rules, this is the place to ask. Questions about a specific edition/variant should be directed to the narrator.
- If you want to know when a certain game is starting, the schedule is in the second post.
- If someone mentions a past game which interests you, someone here may well remember it and be willing to elaborate. Or, you can check the archives.
--Basic Game-Play Overview--
Spoiler
Show
The game is played in turns that consist of two different phases.
There's a day phase that happens from dawn ‘til dusk in game. This period typically lasts 48 hours. During this time all the players try to decide who the bad guys are by voting for them. Votes are done in red text. You may change your vote if you wish, in which case, you should edit your previous post and strike-through your previous vote. Once the day has ended, whoever has the most votes is removed from the game (Lynched). In the event of a tie, common practice is to lynch whichever player reached that number of votes first.
The 25% Rule: Part of the original rules, but not all narrators use it now. By this rule, a lynch only occurs if at least 25% of the players vote for the same person. If no 25% majority is reached, the mob cannot gather sufficient numbers to lynch anyone.
Additionally, if a 50% majority is reached, day may optionally end early at that point, if the narrators want it to.
Auto-lynches: If a player fails to vote for a certain number of day phases (Usually 2), they will be auto-lynched. If you will be unable to get online to post in your games for some period of time, you should notify the narrator(s) in advance, either in-thread or via PM.
The next phase is the night phase, which lasts from dusk ‘til dawn. This phase typically lasts 24 hours. During this phase, anyone that has a special action to perform during that time does so via PM to the narrator(s). This is the phase of the game where the wolves would tell the narrators who they would like to kill.
After time's up, the narrators will post the opening of the following Day Scene and it starts all over again.
This continues until either A) all of the Wolves are destroyed by the Villagers -or- B) the Wolves reduce the total number of non-wolf players to equal their own.
This is just a brief overview of the basic rules. Specific games may have variant rules which will be detailed in the game thread.
--Basic Role Descriptions--
Spoiler
Show
Once a game has closed recruitment, the narrator will randomly assign roles and PM all players with their role. Traditional roles are as follows:
Team Villager
Spoiler
Show
Villager: You are a villager. Your job is to stay alive, and ferret out the werewolves.
Mason: Your job is to ferret out the werewolves, and to protect your fellow Mason(s). There will always be a minimum of 2 Masons in a group. The masons are told each other’s identities.
Seer: Each night phase, you may PM the Narrator and co-Narrator to look into the heart of one other player. When you select a player, the answer given to you will be villager, fool, or werewolf. Seers see the Devil as a Werewolf.
Fool: Thinks he is a seer. Is told that he is a seer. When a fool gets his foresight in the evening, he gets a random chance as to what he sees when he points somebody out. When he points to the Seer, he will always see the Fool, and vice versa.
Baner: This person is the carrier of the wolfsbane. Each night he may protect someone he believes is a villager, from the werewolves’ night-kill.
Team Werewolf
Spoiler
Show
Werewolf: Each night phase the werewolves choose among themselves who they want to kill, and send this in to the narrator(s).
Devil: Is basically the seer for the werewolves, however gets more precise results (Specific role rather than just villager, fool, or werewolf).
Note that other than villager and werewolf, none of these roles
have to appear in any given game, and there are other roles which may be included. The narrator has the right to include whatever roles s/he wants, and alter them as s/he sees fit.
Victory Conditions:
For Team Villagers to win, the villagers must lynch all of the werewolves.
For Team Werewolf to win, they must simply reduce the number of villagers (Including special roles on Team Villager) to equal their current numbers.
Finally, if anyone has any other ideas as far as what to put in this thread, feel free to voice them here or PM them to me.

--Narrating--
--How Narrators Should Use This Thread--
Spoiler
Show
In addition to the ways players should use Central, narrators can:
- Post the rules of games you’re planning, for balance advice, and potentially to garner interest in advance.
- Look for a co-narrator.
- Book a place for your game in the schedule.
- Let us know when your game is recruiting/starting/ending.
- Share fun stuff you've created, such as Korith's games spreadsheet.
--Interesting and Important Notes by Lucky--
Spoiler
Show
A couple other things to note when running a game of Werewolves:
A) Having a co-narrator is highly recommended. This is to assist with the flow of the game, and just makes it easier on the narrator.
Rules on cheating:
The SMBG stance on cheating applies to all of these games, and cheaters will be punished as dictated by the SMBG rules.
However, after the culprit has been punished and s/he has served his time off from the werewolf games, it will become forgotten history. No one is to speak of it further, and any concern will be PMed to the narrators of that game, not posted in the thread.
--Scheduling your game--
Spoiler
Show
We've all decided amongst ourselves that we should only have one game starting in any given week.
Small games (<20 players) do not need to be scheduled in advance. Normally, up to two small games may be started each week, unless the the total number of small games would then exceed the number of large games recruiting or running at the time. If you’re uncertain, just ask here in Central.
Additionally, while small games do not need to be scheduled in advance, they can be, if you wish to stake your claim in advance to be sure no-one beats you to it by posting their game first. However this shouldn’t come up too often.
Big name games which have no difficulty attracting players (Such as Classic) can ignore the schedule and start the same week as another large game. In such a week, no small games may be started.
Above all, be considerate. Everyone wants players for their game, and no-one likes for their game to end up short of players because they’re all playing in other games.
Please PM me or post here if you're planning on starting a game, so that we can coordinate everything properly.
This will ensure that every game gets the attention that it deserves and will make every game more enjoyable.
Thanks in advance.
Just as the Three Post Rule is usually enforced by ourselves rather than getting Mods involved, so too should rules that we've created for ourselves be so enforced. Please politely direct anyone starting a game out of turn to this thread.
As this is not a forum rule, this can only be enforced by us.
A little common courtesy goes a long way.
A note on posting Recruitment/Game Threads:
Threads created in the Structured Games subforum have to wait to be approved by a mod (Alarra or Zeb The Troll)
If you need a second post to open your game, simply put that in the Title of your thread so that your players will not post as soon as it goes up, like I did for this thread.
Then change the Title when you're ready to play.
Recruitment and Game Schedules
Large games:
Note that the date listed is for the week Game Thread should go up, not the recruitment thread. Begin recruitment at your leisure.
Small games:
For small games the date listed will be the week the thread goes up, though the game may not start that week, depending on recruitment. This is to help keep track of the 'Two small games per week' restriction.

2) it can give the narrator someone to talk to about the game and how its going
3) It is someone the narrator can plot with about any changes to make (but that's not relevant in classic)
4) if the narrator cannot fulfil his duties for any reason, the co-narrator can cover his back and make an update or two.
5) OOOOH, writing descriptions is good too.
If you want a co-narrator, ask here in Central. It will probably help to say what your game will be like, though some people will narrate anything.
Claims on Specific Editions/Variants:
Spoiler
Show
In general, a WW variant someone runs is considered specifically theirs. If you want to run another one of it, you must ask them nicely to let you co-narrate.
However, there is nothing to stop you doing something similar, which you can devise for yourself. If you’re uncertain, ask here in Central.
The exceptions to this variant ownership are WW Classic and Simply Werewolf, which get passed around. If you want to run one of these games, just ask and we’ll dig out the rules for you.

Spoiler
Show
RecruitmentSpoiler
Show
In some games, rather than, or in addition to, killing the villagers, the wolves may instead recruit them. The targeted villager becomes a werewolf instead. Power roles are typically immune to recruitment, and recruitment may be refusable, at the choice of the narrator
ScryingSpoiler
Show
It can of course be played that the Seer and Fool get specific roles in response to their scries, rather than just team allegiance or Fool.
Optional Predetermined "Fool's Scry" RolesSpoiler
Show
You may wish to randomly generate a second role distribution to be used for Fool scries, rather than randomly generating the result of each scry. This will ensure the Fool’s scries are consistent (Can’t scry the same person as different roles on separate occasions) and save you work.
Of course, if you give the Fool specific role results, you’ll have to decide what result they get if the role the Fool should scry is already dead. Obvious solution is to change said result to a basic Villager or Werewolf.
The DevilSpoiler
Show
It can be played that the Devil and the Werewolves do not start the game knowing each other (This is the case in WW Classic). This can potentially make things rather interesting, as it’s harder for everyone to know who to trust...
Helgraf's Scry Interference Rule
Spoiler
Show
Under Helgraf’s Scry Interference Rule, any attempt by multiple scryers (Seer, Fool, Devil, etc.) to scry the same target on the same night will result in ‘interference’, i.e. no result.
--Additional Roles--
Spoiler
Show
Here are some more roles which you may see/use in a game of WW:
Team Villager:Spoiler
Show
Day-baner: Each night, this player may choose someone to protect. The following day, that person cannot be lynched.
Not Team Specific:Spoiler
Show
Disguiser: Each night, this player may choose a target and a role. If someone scries that target, they will see the chosen role rather than the target’s actual role (What this does to Fool scries is up to the narrator).
Voider: Each night, this player may choose a target. That target will be unable to use their own night action (If they have one)
Transmuter: Each night, this player chooses a target. The narrators randomly select one of the abilities usable in the game and use it on the target.
Team WerewolfSpoiler
Show
Beast: When this player is lynched, one of the people who voted for him will also die. This may be chosen by the player, randomly selected, or the last person to vote for the beast.
Alpha: Alpha can have three possible meanings – either the Alpha scries as a villager, or they get to choose their own team, or both. This should be specified in the rules of any game where the role is used.

Korith's Excel Spreadsheet. - A great tool to assign all the basic roles. Also includes an option to add up to 10 custom roles, making it also useful for almost any other werewolf variant.
Instructions are included inside.
The only concern that we've found with Korith's wonderful tool is that in some circumstances you may need to use it twice with slightly different configurations each time in order to get a fully randomized role distribution.
This will come into play when you're running an Alpha Game or when you have possible secondary roles that could be
in addition to the player's primary role (such as lovers, feuders, etc.).
Also for inspiration and other possible purposes, the Mafia Wikipedia Article
We've had some concerns about shrinking player-base, so to help potentially attract new players, here are some banners, drawn by Elder Tsofu:

He also made some for specific players, which are in amongst the Player Inspired Posters in the next post.

The Lolrus and Anonymous
took all the memes aside.
"O Memes, do come and walk with us
And I will be your guide
I haz a shiny bukkit
In which some of you can ride."
The little memes all hurried up,
Quite eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat--
And this was odd, because, you know,
They hadn't any feet.
The Lolrus and Anonymous
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
Conveniently low:
Where all the little memes were standing
Waiting in a row.
"The time has come," the Lolrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of pirates--ninjas--bukkit thiefs--
Of internets--and memes--
And why did raiser b1ade confess--
And why Rick Astley sings."
"But wait a bit," the memes all cried,
"Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!"
"No hurry!" said Anonymous.
They thanked him much for that.
"A loaf of bread," the Lolrus said,
"Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
Are very good indeed--
Now if you're ready, dearest memes,
We can begin to feed."
"But not on us!" the memes all cried,
Turning a little blue.
"After such kindness, that would be
A dismal thing to do!"
"The night is fine," the Lolrus said.
"Do you admire the view?
"It was so kind of you to come!
And you are very nice!"
Anonymous said nothing but
"Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf--
I've had to ask you twice!"
"It seems a shame," the Lolrus said,
"To play them such a trick,
After we've brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!"
Anonymous said nothing but
"The butter's spread too thick!"
"I weep for you," the Lolrus said:
"I deeply sympathize."
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.
"My dear memes," said Anonymous,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

If I played werewolf long enough in Kyou
I'd find a way to believe that it's all true
I'm not saying that you lied
straight-faced while Llama died
Still I look to find a reason to believe
Someone like you makes it hard to lynch
Somebody else
Someone like you is easy to lynch
You should point at yourself
If I gave you time to change my vote
I'd have to actually read the stuff you wrote
I know I just picked
your name off the list...
Still I look to find a reason to believe
If I played werewolf long enough in Kyou

Hungy Like the Wolf by Duran Duran]
(Ha ha)
Dark in the village, night full of desire
Steam in the kitchen, go put out the fire
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
Wolfy you want me, I hope I’m baned
And catch my edits while we’re going insane
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
In touch underground
I'm on the hunt I'm coming after you
Who made that sound, I'm lost in a crowd
And I know Murska is a wolf
Straddle the line, parody and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Mind is alive with juices like wine
And I know Murska is a wolf
Stalked in the forest, too close to hide
I'll be upon you by the moonlight side
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
Better start running, you know that I’m right
Leading the mob by pitchfork and torchlight,
Do-do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do, do do
In touch under ground
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Don’t come around, it’s you that I found
And I know Murska is a wolf
Strut on a line, parody and rhyme
I bring the village after you
Mind is alive all running inside
And I know Murska is a wolf
-
(Murska is a wolf
Murska is a wolf
Murska is a wolf)
Burning the ground I break from the crowd
I'm on the hunt I'm after you
Don’t come around, it’s you that I found
And I know Murska is a wolf
Strut on a line, parody and rhyme
I'm on the hunt I'm after you

American Pie by Don McLean]
A long long time ago
I can still remember
How that wolf games used to make me smile
And I knew when I joined in like Fin
That I could help the villagers win
And maybe they'd not lynch me for a while
But Day three made me shiver
With every point that I'd deliver
Bad news in the game thread
I found out that I was dead
I can't remember if I lied
When asked about my team's side
But something touched me deep inside
The day the Goof has died
So...
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Did you write the rules of this game
And do you point at people for their fame,
If the wagon tells you so?
Now do you believe in reading it all?
Can the Goof's words save your mortal soul?
And can you explain why your point at Cristo?
Well, I know that Mordy's in love with him
'cause I saw them prancing with the nymph
They both kicked off your shoes
Said Goof, parody the rhythm and blues
I was a old school rhyming rappin' buck
With a game being played with Llama's and Duck's
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died
I started singing
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Now, for two years we've played on our own
And the forum has slowed down to the bone
But that's not how it used to be
When the Goof sang parodies of Atreyu and Faerwain
In a coat he borrowed from Indurain :smallwink:
And a voice that came from you and me
Oh and while Llama was looking down
The Goof guarded his thorny crown
The courtroom was adjourned
No verdict was returned
And though Murska got pointed at by Jontom Xire
They both knew what was their desire
And winning was all that they aspired
The day the music died
We were singing
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Holy moly with a roly poly,
They slipped one past the narrating goalie,
Speaking of how the game was going fast
Perhaps they were smoking grass
The wolves tried for a forward pass
With the Goof was on the sidelines in a cast
Now the half-time air was sweet as most
While Dirk Kris updated the daily post
We all got up to dance
Oh, but we never got the chance
'Cause the wolves tried to take the field
The villagers refused to yield
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?
We started singing
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Oh, and there we were all in one place
A gaming group who was lost in space
With no time left to start again
So watch out Jack be nimble, Jack be quick
Jack Ripper killed them hookers slick
Scrying is the devil's only friend
And I watched him dance about the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage
No I shouldn't be so cruel
I won't break the games rules
And as the wolves silently killed on in the night
To light the sacrificial rite
I saw Jack laughing with delight
The day the music died
He was singing
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
I sat by, and I sang the blues
And I watched for updates with the news
But soon I smiled and turned away
I went werewolf central,
Where I'd made music years before
But Shadow there said the music wouldn't play
And in the streets the children screamed
The losers cried, and the wolves dreamed
But not a word was posted
The good guys all were ghosted
And the three people I admire most
Alarra, Indy, and Zeb the Troll,
They caught the last game with a role
The day the music died
And they were singing
Bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be the day that I die
This'll be the day that I die
Sooo bye, bye to a villager guy,
Made a posting, now a ghosting from up in the sky
Them good ole wolves were laughing deeply inside
Singing this'll be
the day
that

Well, you can tell by the way I still walk,
I'm a baner's man, now let's all talk.
Music loud and blood's still warm.
I've been killing wolves since I was born.
And now I'm all right, I'm O.K.
But I won't look the other way.
We can try to understand
The voting records effect on man.
Whether you're the Devil
Or whether you're the Alpha,
I'm stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the wolves breakin'
And ev'rybody shakin'
And I'm stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.

Who does he think he is? That narrator has tangled with the wrong man. No one forgets to PM Murska!
Heh heh. Darn right.
Forgotten? Rejected? Publically Humiliated! Why it's more then I can bear.
More beer?
What for? Nothing helps. I'm disgraced.
What you? Never! Murska, you got to try to get back into the games one way or another.
Gosh it disturbs me to see you Murska,
Arguing about all your tactics.
Every guy here'd love to be you Murska,
Because we all think your fantastic.
There's no man in the game as feared as you.
You're everyone's favorite player.
Everyone's in awe and terrified by you,
And I'm not just another nay sayar...
Noooo...
Ooonnne's...
Slick as Murska
No one's quick as Murska
No one's eye as incredibly green as Murska,
For there's no man in town worth all the babble,
Perfect a pure paragon
You may be compared to likeness of Shadow,
But I'll tell you whose team we'd prefer to be on
No one's been like Murska
A king pin like Murska
No one's got us all to give in like Murska
As a specimen, yes, I'm intimidating
My- what an eye, that Murska
Give five "hurrahs!"
Give twelve "hip-hips!"
Murska is the best
And the rest is all drips
No one fights like Murska
Says he right like Murska
In a heated debate nobody writes like Murska
For there's no one as seeing and knowing
As you see I've got receptors to spare
Not a bit of him's blinding or slowing
(That's right!)
And ev'ry last inch of me's free of all hair
No one hits like Murska
Matches wits like Murska
In a spitting match nobody spits like Murska
I'm espcially good at expectorating
(Ptooey!)
Ten points for Murska!
When I was a pixie I played four dozen games
Ev'ry morning to help me get fame
And now that I'm grown I play five dozen games
So I'm roughly distrusted by NAAAME!
No one shoots like Murska
Makes disputess like Murska
Then goes tromping around with refutes like Murska
I use trophies in all of my decorating
Say it again
Who's an Eye among men?
And then say it once more
Who's the hero next door?
Who's a super success?
Don't you know? Can't you guess?
Ask his fans and his five hangers-on
There's just one eye in town who's got all of it down
And his name's M-U-R- S -
M-U-R-S - K -
M-U-R-S-K - ah!
MURSKA!!!

Kept thinking I could never live with wolves on all my sides
But then I spent so many nights thinking how I voted wrong
And I grew strong and I learned how to play along
And so we're back
In cyberspace
I just logged in to find you here with that wolfy grin upon your face
I should have changed that stupid vote
I should have made you the lynchee
If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to 'wagon me
Com'on let's go
Use your red text
It's turned around now
Cause you're the one who's dying next
Weren't you the one who tried to kill me with a false scry
You think I'd crumble
You think I'd lay down and die
Oh no not I
I will survive
Oh as long as I know how to type I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my roles to live
I've got all my votes to give
I'll survive
I will survive
Hey, hey!

Murska Constant: Murska is always a wolf. ALWAYS.
The Rule of Shadow: If Shadow has not been night-killed by day three, he is a wolf. Lynch him.
What Hyozo has learned playing Werewolf:
- -Murska is always a wolf.
- -Murska is frequently not a wolf.
- -All wolves point randomly.
- -All wolves are bandwagoners.
- -Only wolves like to keep a low profile by frequently missing days
- -Only villagers get autolynched.
- -Shadow usually isn't a wolf, I still shouldn't ever trust him.
- -Using petty revenge to determine early votes is meaningless and likely to get me lynched.
- -Using petty revenge to determine early votes is better than nothing and therefore a good idea.
- -People who claim to be a villager never really are villagers.
- -Sometimes people who claim to be a villager really are villagers.
- -Wolves don't point at each other on days where it makes a difference.
- -Wolves like to point at each other to make it look like they're not on the same side. Since changing points would make them look extremely suspicious, this means that wolves frequently start bandwagons against each other.
- -When a wolf is likely to be lynched, other wolves join the bandwagon to throw suspicion off themselves.
- -Wolves covet easily defended positions, the easiest of these for them to gain is "I was the vote that pushed that wolf bandwagon into the lead, clearly no wolf would do that."
- -Whenever I have a theory which I believe to be worth telling people, it is probably wrong.
- -Whenever I have a theory which I do not believe to be worth telling people, it is probably right, and I will probably die before I change my mind.

Presenting, and reserving the earliest possible time... Phantom of the Opera Werewolf III.
Spoiler
Show
Many years after the events at the Paris Opera House, a group of friends and some enemies have gone to a mansion off in the French countryside, to reenact the famous story of the Opera Ghost, with some people acting as the parts of the Phantom, and others the heroes of that affair. This looks to be an enjoyable vacation. What, some people who aren’t not on the guest role are here to? Great, now we have a few wild cards in this game.
Welcome to Phantom of the Opera Werewolf III. As mentioned by the intro, while most of the roles and rules are the same, there is a small group of secret roles throw into the mix. Of course, the stuff of the opera are the main setting, but just remember, there’s a few twists in this.
The Roles:
Good Guys: Win when all wolves are dead, extra win if both Christine and Raoul are alive at the end of the game.
Spoiler
Show
Christine Daaé: The rising star of the Paris Opera, and the love of both the Phantom and Raoul. Day Baner with 2 day cooldown, extra win condition for wolves

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Note a slight change to how I'm putting small games into the schedule. This paragraph has been added to post 3:
Small games:
For small games the date listed will be the week the thread goes up, though the game may not start that week, depending on recruitment. This is to help keep track of the 'Two small games per week' restriction.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Right, screw it.
Put me down in the next available big game slot as running Alien Invasion IV. Will put up the new and updated rules closer to the actual time.
Edit: Actually, put me down the for the week beginning Monday 7th February 2011. Looking at the schedule atm, a slot appears when I'm doing exams.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Just a heads up, I have taken over Uncle Festys spot as narrator of Ravnica and will be running it as soon as I confirm 30 people as playing. Also could I get a slot for a small game around the time of February 9th? ((I want to run Reverse WW IV Villagers Return))
And I want to start it on my Birthday so I was wondering if I could do that.

Wait wait wait, Ravnica, as in Magic: The Gathering City of Guilds? *_* I'd be so all over that.
And Reverse WW makes a come-back? Woo.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Yes that ravnica, and we still need players seeing as how a bunch of people couldn't do it this time around. So head over there and sign up for it!

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
Please move my unknown back to after febuarary 7th please (maybe the next week)
and just a heads up it will be MtG - Conflux, the shards collide.
I want to finish Ravnica before I get sucked into narrating another big game.

Aww, I was looking forward to that game...
@Sanity: You really think Ravnica will last that long? I mean I know the rules are pretty complicated, so until December I imagine could happen, but February?
Also, whenever you want it moved to, be specific and pick a week which doesn't already have a game in it.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
So, I'm thinking of running a 20 man game.
However, I don't have all of the rules hammered down. I need some help to do it, because this game relies on secret roles. If anyone is interested in helping bounce ideas(but not be able to play in the game) please PM me.

Do we get to co-narrate? :smalltongue:

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
@ Thufir - You are proabably right, I will leave it as it is for right now. I was just worried I wouldn't get everything done in time, but it SHOULD be done by then. Hopefully.

Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
One thing I've noticed recently - a large amount of games are fizzling out because narrators are disappearing. I thought we had a rule that games had to have conarrators? Or something? :smallconfused:
-
Re: WW Central VII: Important WW information goes here - READ OPENING POSTS!
I could be an AL replacement for the Mafia game, as my life in one WW game is likely coming to a close anyway.

I don't think that's a rule, but maybe it should be, at least for first time narrators.

It was never a rule but it was recommended. Not in the first games, though.

Guess what first time narrator had to do 2/3 of the big WW game all by himself and who was at fault x_x

Based on the Central OPs (Both before and after I rewrote them), co-narrators were recommended, but not compulsory, except for Classic.

Re: I didn't playtest this at all
Moving this OGL game to the new thread so I can continue to perfect it or in case someone wants to run it!
(NOTE: ATREYU DOES NOT INTEND TO RUN THIS GAME.....yet, but the design was in his head and Playground Squares gave him a perfect opportunity to unleash it. This idea is filed under Open Gaming License, so that basically if anyone wants to run it, they may feel free to do so. However, Atreyu does not own the rights to Pokemon, so you can't make any money off this game. There aren't many ways to make money off this game, unless you were to charge people a fee in return for getting the Pokemon of their choice.)
For Reinholdt!
POKEMON II: The Curse of the Murderous Eevee!
Setting: A Pokemon training school.
Plot: Short plot: A magically augmented evil Eevee is on the loose, killing the trainers in the school one by one.
Long plot is long

Show
Ash Ketchum was invited to be the guest speaker and show off his Pikachu whenever Team Rocket shows up trying to stop him. Team Rocket unleashes their newest weapon, the Black Arbok Statue. The statue is a legendary artifact created using the greatest of Alakazam magics during the Great Yoshi Rebellion shoots a beam of energy at a Pokemon turning it bigger, stronger, and under the control of the statue's holder. As they arrived they blasted a random Pokemon, hoping to turn it into an instrument of DOOM, but they made the mistake of blasting an Eevee! Eevee's as you probably know, tend to absorb the properties of just about anything that touches them and this Eevee absorbed the powers of the statue. The poor Pokemon was instantly transformed into a venomous monster with hypnotic powers that began to wreck havoc on the school. Team Rocket fled with great practiced skill, leaving the students to deal with the mess.
The Eevee has taken over the minds of some of the students, referring to them as his "Wolves." They will protect him from the other students and they will all have to be defeated in order to subdue the evil Eevee.
Black Arbok Statue rules rules shamelessly ripped off from Mafia III and introduced by Joosbawx.
Spoiler
Show
At the beginning of the game the Black Arbok Statue is randomly given to one player. If and when that player is killed, the Statue moves to the individual or group responsible for that players death.
Example 1: 'Player A', a Trainer, has the Black Arbok Statue. S/he is killed by the Wolves during the night. The Statue is then randomly assigned to one of the members of the faction responsible for that death. There will usually be some evidence left behind that would indicate that the deceased was in possession of the Statue at time of their demise.
Example 2: 'Player A', belonging to any faction, has the Black Arbok Statue. S/he is voted against and lynched by 'popular vote'. At time of death, the Statue will be obtained by the player that started the bandwagon against 'Player A'.
Sidequest & Role: Retrieve the statue. One lone team rocket member was brave enough to stay behind as his team fled. He knows, if he brings the statue back to Team Rocket, Goivonni will give him the promotion and he'll be blasting off to the top of Team Rocket. His goal is to retrieve the statue and flee the scene. The statue will be handled in the manner that artifacts would be handled in Mafia games. Each night the Team Rocket Agent can sneak into someone's room and search for the statue, if he finds it, he still has to acquire it in the Mafia style manner. After he acquires the statue, he may choose to leave the game as long as he has the Black Arbok statue.
ROLE: Teachers - Act as masons.
Why you should play aka "What makes this game different": At the beginning of the game every player will be randomly assigned a Pokemon. Most pokemon will be a one time use power, but this is not always the case.

Mewtwo LEGENDARY| Psyburst: During the night phase to scry a players role. Does not reveal their Pokemon. May be used once a night, but may be used multiple times. No cooldown time. (Psst! Its the Seer)| Smearing jelly on Mewtwo will turn it into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. You probaly don't want to evolve one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game into a PB & J with no powers. So we are assuming that there is no way to evolve a Mewtwo.
Ditto| Transform: Copies and uses the ability of the last Pokemon used. Please note that some Pokemon are used in PM's so the last ability used may not be what you think it is. |Sorry, ditto's don't seem to evolve. Bummer, aye?
Chimchar| Ember: Burn away 4 points at you. The first 4 people pointing at you, their points don't count against you and they cannot point again for the rest of the day.| Work the phrase "flaming poo" into a conversation in the random banter thread. Lucario| Aura Sphere: Protects one trainer a night from "wolf" attacks. Multiple use Pokemon. No cooldown period. (Baner!)| Nope, although given his appearance, he may evolve into Atreyu the Masked Llama.
Celebi: LEGENDARY| Time Travel: Celebi may travel back in time to prevent the death of the last person killed in the game and bring them back to life.| Celebi can't evolve, everyone knows that, you silly person.
Zapdos: LEGENDARY |Rain Dance: If used during the day, no other Pokemon may be used for the rest of the day phase. If used during the night, no other Pokemon may be used for the rest of the night. Pokemon used before Zapdos will stay in effect. |If Zapdos is unused by the end of the game, and your team wins, it transforms into Zeus, the Greek God. Show this to any Narrator running a Greek Gods themed WW game and see if they'll give you something nifty for it.
Darkrai: LEGENDARY| Dark Void: Used during the night phase to target a trainer. That trainer may not post in the thread nor their Pokemon until the beginning of the next night phase. The affected trainer will not be auto-lynched for this. Multiple use Pokemon, no cooldown. (Extreme Voider!)| No evolving. This guy is nasty enough.

Haunter| Shadow Punch: Used, once during the night phase against target trainer. That trainer may not use his Pokemon until the start of the next night phase. If that trainer has already used his Pokemon, then Haunter is ineffective. Multiple use (2 day cooldown)| Evolves into Gengar when traded to another player. I wouldn't trade it to a player you've targetted, though.
Gengar| Shadow Claw: Once per night, it is used during the night phase against target trainer. That trainer may not use his Pokemon until the start of the next night phase. If that trainer has already used his Pokemon, then Gengar is ineffective. Multiple use. No cooldown. Bulbasaur| Vine Whip: Bulbasaur has a 10% chance of stealing another trainer's Pokemon. PM the narrator during the night phase. If Vine Whip is ineffective, then the trainer may try again. Ivysaur| Sleep Powder: Ivysaur has a 25% chance of stealing another trainer's Pokemon. PM the narrator during the night phase. If Petal Dance is ineffective then the trainer may try again (2 night cooldown), if it is Super Effective, trainer may not steal again. | Venusaur will not evolve on a train. It will not evolve on a plane. It will not evolve with a stone. It will not evolve when alone. It will not evolve in the air. It will not evolve anywhere!
Diglett:| Dig:At the start of the game Diglett's trainer immediately knows the roles and Pokemon of 2 non-wolves. Despite being "used" Diglett stays in play. However only its owner at the start of the game will learn the names.| Evolves into Dugtrio whenever 2 people are auto-lynched.
Dugtrio | Earth Power: Dugtrio's trainer immediately learns the roles and Pokemon of two more non-wolves. Despite being used, Dugtrio stays in play, however, only the owner at the time of evolution will learn the names.| Ever wonder what happens to the personalities of the other two digletts whenever they evolve into Dugtrio? Does Dugtrio hear voices cuz of it? In any case, Dugtrio doesn't evolve.
Mareep| Thunderwave: For the rest of the day anyone Mareep's trainer points at will receive +3 votes. Use via PM or thread |Evolves after 5 trainers have been killed. Morbid little sheepy, isn't it. Evolves into Flaafy.
Flaafy| Cotton Spore: For the rest of the day anyone Flaafy's trainer points at will receive +5 votes. Use via PM or thread| Evolves whenever 7 trainers or Introbulus is killed. Evolves into Ampharos.
Ampharos| Light Screen: For the rest of the day anyone Ampharos' trainer points at will receive +7 votes. Usable via PM or thread.| No one could handle the shear might of an evolved Ampharos.
Igglybuff| Charm: For the rest of the day anyone Igglybuff's trainer points at will receive -3 votes. Use via PM or thread. |Evolves after 2 or more trainers post 3 or more Werewolf or Pokemon song parodies. Evolves into Jigglypuff

Wigglytuff Perish Song:| For the rest of the day anyone Wigglytuff's trainer points at will receive -7 votes. Use via PM or thread.| Wigglytuff can't evolve. No one knows why.
????? ????|Up to 4 votes from one trainer may be shifted to another trainer chosen at random.|???
Moltres LEGENDARY| Sunny Day: Used during the day, the target of this Pokemon may not be lynched today (3 Day Cooldown)| Moltres is content to stay where its at.
Mudkip| Liek Mudkipz: (Lover roles for Mudkip's trainer and trainer of Mudkip's choice)| After day 2, post a minute or longer video of Mudkip's trainer's player attempting to survey people to find out if they like Mudkips. Elvolves to Marshtomp.
Marshtomp |They liek Marshtomp: Lover roles for two random trainers| After day 4, post a 3 minute or longer video of Mudkip's trainer's player attempting to survery people in a different manner to find out if they like Mudkips. Evolves to Swampert.
Swampert| I know who lieks Swampert: Lover roles for two trainers of Swampert's choice| The evolved form of Swampert was banned in Japan for it controversial look, and so has not been brought over to the U.S. version of Pokemon.
Pokemon can be traded and evolve. Yes, the evil team will have their own Pokemon. Legendary Pokemon will be less likely to be given away in random distribution.
ONLY ONE POKEMON MAY BE USED PER TRAINER PER DAY OR NIGHT PHASE. (No one player may use two Pokemon during the same day or night phase.)
Every so often, Atreyu doesn't know when yet, stones will appear. He's not sure how they'll work, but there needs to be some way for Pikachu to evolve. Although, honestly, who'd want to evolve their pikachu.
Yes, this game is incomplete at this point. More is planned, but Atreyu has to fill it in later.
EDIT: RARE CANDY RULE! ANYONE WHO MAILS ATREYU CANDY WILL BE GIVEN A RARE CANDY IN GAME AND CAN LEVEL UP THEIR POKEMON!
A note about game balance: Looking over everything, I see lots of ways this game could be broken and I'm okay with that, because I want to promote creativity in the Pokemon game. I've tried to "NERF" the easiest combos, such as someone owning both Lucario and Mewtwo and someone trading Diglett or Dugtrio to build a large "friendly" list.

1 pound of candy = one rare candy. 3 pounds of candy = 2 rare candies. 5 pounds of candy = two rare candies and a health potion that will let you use your One Time Use Pokemon a second time!
Hey, as long as I'm exploiting people, sending Atreyu a copy of a Pokemon game playable on the GBA, Gamecube, or Wii, will allow you to have a second Pokemon!

Everyone knows there are only 151 Pokemon.

151, you say? Yes, and no.
You see, there are 151 ORIGINAL Poke'mon, from Bulbasaur to Mew. As the years have gone by, more of the creatures have been created... for a total, as of generation 4... 493 Poke'mon! And that's not counting the generation thats coming in next year from Japan.
Yet, some people trapped in the past, continue to say that there is only 151 Poke'mon, or that there are no Poke'mon past the 251 of Johto. I don't blame them, though... considering the diety-level Poke'mon that have started appearing.

You see, there are 151 ORIGINAL Poke'mon, from Bulbasaur to Mew. As the years have gone by, more of the creatures have been created... there are no Pokemon past the 251 of Johto.
I think this is what Eternal Drifter meant to say. The rest was just a set of meaningless combinations of letters which merely appeared to be words stated utter nonsense.

I like to have a spot in January for S.E.U. VII: Corruption if that's okay.

I hope there are enough players looking for games to join Gehenna

You'll have to be more specific. Also, SEU VII already happened. Add I to the number.

*SOBS* It used to be a table of 151 Pokemon and some new fangled ones, but...but...now its just a mess and I can't get it to be a table again!!!
If someone wants to run it, they can tweak it so it only uses the 151. You'll have to take the part about Introbulus dying out for Mareep, but that's easily done.
I just want my table form back!!

Re: I didn't playtest this at all
Here you go.

Hypno| Hypnosis: Use at night to scry one trainer, learn their role and pokemon, and they won't remember you. |It can't be done nor can you get ye flask.
Magikarp |Filet O' Fish: Magikarp has no power. It really can't do much at all unless you're hungry. You can use Magikarp on yourself or others to make Sushi! It has no game effect, but its tasty. You can use Magikarp on someone with a firetype Pokemon to make grilled fish. Its tasty but has no game effect. |Lead a lynch while having the Black Arbok statue in your possession. Evolves into Gyarados
Gyarados| Hyper Beam: as a night action can blast another player, eliminating them from the game (AKA Sniper ability.) May be used multiple times, and each night.| Gyarados cannot evolve and any attempt to do so will destroy the universe.
Pichu| Thundershock: ZAP all players currently pointing at Pichu's trainer. They cannot use their Pokemon for the rest of the day phase. |Happiness:Evolves whenever a "wolf" is lynched. Pichu evolves into Pikachu!
Pikachu| Thunderbolt: ZAP all players currently pointing at Pikachu's trainer. They cannot use Pokemon for the rest of the day nor night actions or Pokemon tonight. If all remaining wolves are zapped, they may not make a night kill tonight. |Use a thunderstone: Evolves into Raichu.
Raichu |Thunderpunch: ZAP all players currently pointing at Raichu's trainer. They cannot use their pokemon for the rest of the day, nor can they use night actions or Pokemon tonight nor can they use Pokemon tomorrow. If all remaining wolves are zapped, they may not make a night kill tonight. |It can't evolve, at least not yet, but rumors are that it will evolve in 2013.
No simply spamming the phrase. It must be used in the current conversation, but it only needs to be said once. Elvolves into Monferno.
Monferno| Flame Wheel: Burn away 6 points at you. The first 6 people pointing at you, their points don't count against you and they cannot point again for the rest of the day.| After day 3, work the phrase "My monkey is on fire" into a conversation in the random banter thread. No simply spamming the phrase. It must be used in the current conversation, but it only needs to be said once. Elvolves into Infernape.
Infernape| Flare Blitz: Burn away all points at you. All people pointing at you, their points don't count against you and they cannot point again for the rest of the day.| It doesn't get cooler than Infernape! Don't even try.
Riolu| Force Palm: Its trainer may protect itself from "wolf" attack at night. Multiple use pokemon. (1 day cooldown period.)| Happiness: When a "wolf" is lynched. Evolves into Lucario.
Pokemon used before Zapdos may continue to be used.
Gastly| Mean Look: Used once during the night phase against target trainer. That trainer may not use his Pokemon until the start of the next night phase. If that trainer has already used his Pokemon, then Gastly is ineffective.| May evolve at anytime on or after the 4th game day, by having his trainer PM Atreyu and ask politely to have Gastly evolve into Haunter!
(Voider)| Gengar creeps out Atreyu and he's afraid of any form that may be more powerful than Gengar, so Gengar may not evolve, at all, ever!
Bulbasaur| Vine Whip: Bulbasaur has a 10% chance of stealing another trainer's Pokemon. PM the narrator during the night phase. If Vine Whip is ineffective, then the trainer may try again. (1 Night Cooldown) If it is Super Effective, then Bulbasaur may not steal again until it evolves into Ivysaur.| Evolves into Ivysaur after 5 Pokemon have been used.
Ivysaur| Sleep Powder: Ivysaur has a 25% chance of stealing another trainer's Pokemon. PM the narrator during the night phase. If Sleep Powder is ineffective then the trainer may try again (2 night cooldown), if it is Super Effective, trainer may not steal again until it evolves into Venusaur.| Evolves into Venusaur when 13 Pokemon are used.
Venusaur| Petal Dance: Venusaur has a 50% chance of stealing another trainer's Pokemon.
Diglett:| Dig: Diglett's trainer immediately knows the roles and Pokemon of 2 non-wolves| Evolves into Dugtrio whenever 2 people are auto-lynched.
Dugtrio | Earth Power: Dugtrio's trainer immediately knows the roles and Pokemon of 4 non-wolves.| Ever wonder what happens to the personalities of the other two digletts whenever they evolve into Dugtrio?
Jigglypuff| Sing: For the rest of the day anyone Jigglypuff's trainer points at will receive -5 votes. Use via PM or thread.| Evolves after 3 or more trainers post 5 or more WW or pokemon song parodies and after day 4. Evolves into Wigglytuff.

????? ????|Up to 4 votes from one trainer may be shifted to another trainer of this trainer's choice.|???
Moltres LEGENDARY| Sunny Day: Used during the day, the target of this Pokemon may not be lynched today (3 Day Cooldown)| Moltres is content to stay where its at.
Mudkip| Liek Mudkipz: (Lover roles for Mudkip's trainer and trainer of Mudkip's choice)| After day 2, post a minute or longer video of Mudkip's trainer's player attempting to survey people to find out if they like Mudkips. Elvolves to Marshtomp.
Marshtomp |They liek Marshtomp: Lover roles for two random trainers| After day 5, post a 3 minute or longer video of Mudkip's trainer's player attempting to survery people in a different manner to find out if they like Mudkips. Evolves to Swampert.
Swampert| I know who lieks Swampert: Lover roles for two trainers of Swampert's choice| The evolved form of Swampert was banned in Japan for it controversial look, and so has not been brought over to the U.S. version of Pokemon.
So would one-shot Pokemon still evolve into a usable form, or are they just gone?

It was never a rule, but a really good idea were if RL comes and takes you away, then your first game to narrate doesn't become your last game to narrate because you loose everybody's faith in your being able to run a successful WW game.
What people look for in a narrator....
Consistency with updates (Timeliness, PMs sent and received, actions happen as explained, questions are answered)
Balance in game roles (No role or set of roles given to one player allows them to dominate all the other players or be dominated by all the other players.)
Amusing narrations of death (We don't like to die from games, but if we gotta go, then let's go with a smile!)
Do you really take the risk that RL attacks (and RL will attack!) and your first game bombs because of it, thus scarring you for the rest of your WW career? :smalleek: I wouldn't. :smallwink:

Either this, or creative narratives. I've personally always received more praise from certain updates from Vampire then I ever did when trying to be funny.
This one, from Classic IV, which was also the inspiration for Helgraf's Scry Interference Rule if I recall correctly, has always been my personal favorite.

The quardaped. Something will happen to the quadraped this evening. I know it to be true.
Drawing further into yourself, preparing to psychically overtake the llama, as you'd done to so many others before, was but a simple matter.
Once within the llama's mind, looking out from his eyes, a strange sensation overcomes you for a brief moment, and then you are expelled from the llama's conciousness and into the air above, looking down.
Looking down at the Masked Llama, and his eyes staring back up at you.
He can see me!
Gathering your power you thrust back in, and find yourself aware of another entity within the Masked One's mind. There is only one possibility as to who this could be....
Curse the infernal vilagers and their damnable seer!
Once again you rush into the quadraped's mind, but this time are met with force.
You feel the layers of protection around your mnd slowly start to peel back.
No! I cannot let him see me!
Loosening your grip on Atreyu's mind you go on full defense, replacing the worn layers and broken defenses, before attacking your nemesis with a veritable explosion of psychic force.
A blast so powerful that the both of you are expelled from the target's mind.
But you waste no time.
The first one back in will have the advantage, and if you can get a foothold fast enough maybe you'll get a glimpse of your enemy while he tries to get in.
So focused are you with the mental battle that neither of you notices the wolves slowly stepping from the shadows that surround.
The poor Masked Llama stands defenseless, his mind not his own, as the were-beasts close in around him.
The wolves take little effort in dispatching Atreyu, and even less pleasure in it, as he fought back none at all.
Locked in a mental standoff with your old rival as your host mind dies, the world flashes yellow and white, blinding you, ears ringing in pain.
You awaken some hours later on the floor of your small cottage.
Did he see me?
Does he know who I am?
Your eyes still pain you to look upon the dim light in your room.
Your ears stil ring with the damage your brain has suffered.
Your head has never pounded like this before and you feel as if it will explode.
Did he see me?
Atreyu the Masked Llama was killed by the wolves.
He was a Mason.
Day begins and will end in approximately 48 hours.
Happy Hunting!
